I'm curious why IBM is teaching us about an LLM from Meta ... is IBM productizing this tech? And what about Watson? It seems like that tech was leading the world a few years ago ... is it obsolete now?

Llama 3+ is (mostly) open source now with code repositories on github, so anyone can contribute to its development and use it (mostly) how they want/need for free. (The restrictions are understandable for ethical, moral, and legal reasons although Meta retaining some control over the model can raise suspicions.) As a result, Llama is good enough to be used instead of many paid AI models, so it makes sense for devs to get behind it as everyone benefits from improvements.

The 1B & 3B model are very light weight you don't need a big infrastructure you can run those models in your phone. Make it as a personal assistant.

Very informative, but you should address nonprofessional and those who aren't developers and start with them from the scratch teaching them how to download , customize , And upgrade The models this would expand your consumer base significantly
