So my I bond is at 3.38 now. I purchased on August 4th '23. I'm considering cashing out soon, should i wait till November?

this is sort of the trap of ibonds.

It looks like the new composite inflation rate for November will be 1.97% (or 3.94% annually), up from the 3.38% you are getting now. It is up to you to decide if you still think it is worth holding onto for another six months at this rate.

@@timthornton3010 Thanks Tim, I have decided to redeem my bond on Nov.1st. Since my fixed rate is 0%, there are many better places to re-invest my 10 grand!

I think it’s best to sell your old ibond and buy again to get the higher fixed rate if you want to stay invested in ibonds

I'm out of Bonds and switching to T bills. 12 month T bill will get about the same rate with no change at 6 months.

What if I have 500k or a million dollar and want to get the profit every month and let the money I invested into that. Which one would work better? Treasury bills/bonds or S&P 500? Thank you.
