That didn't answer the question. If I get 205 as my answer for the multiple jpbs wprksheet, do I put 205 on mine AND my wife's w4, or just mine?

Im in sarasota ad we have ridiculous LAND VALUES... and its not like there are lots of EMPTY LOTS that sell.. So they can just make up whatever they want for LAND.... Thats what sucks... So even if your house is a POS, they still tax the crap out of you for the LAND.. there is NO WAY to appraise the land!

I purchased my home from an investment hedge fund that owned 76,000 homes. After I bought it and homesteaded it my taxes INCREASED. Im being overtaxed by at least $1,000 a year. How the hell does a hedge fund with 76,000 homes pay less than me with my only home?

There will never be a way to retire with the way property taxes are. I paid $700 today for my truck registration renewal and now have a $6,500 property tax bill. How did we get into a system where people just agree to pay all this nonsense? How are there not riots in the streets?

Thanks for the info. How long does one have to wait after recharactization from a Roth to Traditional IRA before it can be switched back to a Roth to avoid any step rule violations? Usually the advice is to switch the IRA to a Roth before there are earnings so as to minimize taxable gains. Any advice is appreciated!

What if i want to split the extra withholding between me and my spouse? How would i navigate that on the W4? I do make more ($110k) vs ($65k), but i also pay all of the bills. This is set up to drive the majority of the makeup withholding on the higher income. Again, how could i make sure i withhold the right amount, while splitting the extra witholding more evenly?
@jonathonrichards479311 күн бұрын
Let's use your example for my process. Extra withholding was $319 and $99 for a total of $418. Could I split that $219 and $199 and still have the same outcome?

Why have we the people agreed to pay anything near 20-30% in taxes? After Britain DEFENDED us as colonies, we had a revolutionary war over their reparations of things like 3% tax ON TEA. Why are people thankful for the smidgen of taxes we can fend off when we should not be paying this amount in the first place? I am just asking.
@jerrywaz601413 күн бұрын
Federal income tax is 100% voluntary. It’s worth the effort to un-volunteer. Let the dummies “pay the correct amount.” And you keep YOUR money.

so overall, Fair Tax Act might be better for everyone despite all the cons, that's what I'm getting. tbh the no more IRS part is huge for me.

If the FAIR Tax were to create, for example, an additional $5 in grocery sales tax, it doesn’t mean the groceries cost $5 more. Because the income tax would be gone, net prices would drop as companies no longer have to recoup their income tax in prices. (Market competition keeps them from artificially keeping the price up.)

Can you please advise how 3% interest on 20k equals a total loan value of 21,562.2 and not 20600? The monthly payment breakdown feels misleading. Yes, technically more money goes toward principle each month as the loan is being paid off. And in reality the total interest paid on the 20k loan is 7.81% ($1562.2 ) instead of 600. Which is 3% of 20k I won’t pretend to know how car loan interest is calculated - hence why I’m here looking for answers….

I opened two 529 plans for the same child (we only have 1 child) So regardless of the "why?" Do you see any issues with using them when the child is in college? I am guessing that I just pick whatever plan I want to pay that college bill from. Also, can you roll one plan into another plan without penalty? Thanks

It’s a consumption tax…unfortunately if groceries, medicine, and daily pens are included it’s an undue burden on the lower and middle class IE 30k salary spends similar on consumer goods as a 100k and 500k Also, all taxes are shifted to consumers thus called the “sales tax”. And corporations contribute to avoid their fair share as the fair tax as an end point only tax (taxing items only at the retail level) Needs a lot more work to be “fair “

Excellent content, and the best out there on this topic. You probably need to now update this video, since Secure Act 2.0 was passed by congress in 2022, which now allows funding for the previous tax year in the first year of establishing the plan, provided you fund prior to your filing date. A significant change for those of us who didn’t establish a Solo 401k until January, but had a full year of revenue in the prior year. Fidelity is one of the few companies not allowing the Roth contributions; however, the law is forcing them to establish the Roth component by the end of 2025. There are also interesting ways to do a Backdoor Contributions if you transfer all your existing IRA after tax monies over to your Solo 401k, very interesting strategies. Below is the new relevant section: SECURE 2.0 Act of 2022 Section 317, Retroactive first year elective deferrals for sole proprietors. Under the SECURE Act, an employer may establish a new 401(k) plan after the end of the taxable year, but before the employer’s tax filing date and treat the plan as having been established on the last day of the taxable year. Such plans may be funded by employer contributions up to the employer’s tax filing date. Section 317 allows these plans, when they are sponsored by sole proprietors or singlemember LLCs, to receive employee contributions up to the date of the employee’s tax return filing date for the initial year. Section 317 is effective for plan years beginning after the date of enactment of this Act.

Can we find a legal loophole to right off the hidden tax caused by quantitative easing? They are devaluing our savings and earnings with QE so we should be able to account for them stealing our purchasing power and devaluing our fiat currencie. I am thinking about filling exempt.
