Time well spent with family is always a good investment. Your boys will remember this experience forever. Years from now when they have their own families maybe they will take them out and relive the adventures they had as kids. Memories of life's experiences are free. They can make you smile or make you cry. I hope one day they thank you for such great memories.

It's really great to see how much you care about your son/family. Taking the time to explain the finer detail, show him the tracks, letting him walk up to the dead cow first handing him the reel. That's my biggest take away. Great film too.

Clay, I wish that I could back time up. In 1987 I took my wife and 3 year old on an elk hunt. We had a wonderful time even though I was not successful we saw elk and I had a shot. Two weeks was not enough and now that son took his son to moose camp last year. As with Fen shooting the pig this brings back memories that are among my most precious things. You sir, a blessed man! Keep it up.

Thank you for such an awesome video, you have reignited that fire I lost some 10 years ago... you and your son's together brought back a few great memories of hunting with my son at that age... we still hunt together but not as often as we both would like... now he's a father and I sent him this video... as a new father himself he will understand now the feelings we dads have hunting with our children and passing on that knowledge, and most of all making those memories that last a lifetime... Thank you!

10/10 mate, I respect your honesty with your audience and am inspired by your approach. I had been trying for two years to harvest my first deer (fallow, red and rusa) but was never in a position to be comfortable with a shot. Last month I took my 7 year old son on a four day camping trip and we stalked and harvested two reds (a spiker and a doe). It was my little blokes first hunting trip and it was him who spotted both deer and started both stalks. Cheers and well done from Australia.

Lots of important lessons for the young fella but the best one was the one he's clearly already learned; the curiosity to ask "Dad, what is that?". I had the same issue in Oregon hunting Elk for the first time ever last year. 0 bugles the whole time even though I knew the Elk were in there. I haven't figured out hunting the ungulates yet, but I figured out the bears. I am hard pressed to find anyone willing to hike like your kids do though, truly impressive. It sounds like fun to people until the reality sets in. Stuck solo hunting until my boy doesn't need diapers I guess haha. Thanks for the content. Jessie.

With a 7 yr old you have the time it takes to eat an apple before you start moving... lol I remember taking Dan hunting squirrels for the first time. Sat on a log in an area full of oaks. Fidget, shift, sniffle, fidget some more, shift, wiggle, "Dad, are we going to see any squirrels?" (When 20 yds away you could hear the squirrels going to town on the acorns). I said, "Not as long as you keep moving, but there are some over there... Let's move, if you promise to sit real still." He did, we nailed a grey squirrel. The rest is history. He's 35 and has shot bigger whitetail buck than me. Job well done ;-) Proverbs 22:6
