Sultan Murad (Metin Akdülger) learns that Kösem Sultan wanted to kill him. Sultan Murad learns that his governor has agreed with the physician and sends Emir Çelebi's head to Kösem Sultan (Nurgül Yeşilçay). Bağdat’tan dönen Sultan Murad, aldığı savaş yaralarıyla iyice takatten düşer. Hastalığı iyice ilerleyen Sultan Murad yatağa düşer. Sultan Murad’ın vaziyetinin kötü olduğunu öğrenen Kösem Sultan oğlunun başında bekler. Ana oğul hasta yatağında hesaplaşır.

People see only the powerful person as an oppressor, specially if they are male, and forget how huge of a duties these men used to carry on their shoulders. Being the leader of not just a City or State, but all Islam. You become weak, you are dead. Just like Ibrahim died later due to his stupidity and lack of personality as Sultan.

Many people think that the sultan enjoys being cruel and torturing his subjects.. as if he likes it; "As if i had wanted it". No way, this is his fate and he has to accept it, and there are two paths for this kind of situation, either he rules with an iron fist and get rid of his emotions so that the empire and the dynasty keep stable, or the second path where he shows sympathy towards the people, especially towards traitors and opponents So they take it as a weakness.. and that is the biggest mistake a ruler can make, and the price he will pay is death (just like what happened to his older brother osman) if not even worse than that..because it can also destroy the whole empire. Ordinary people can't realize how hard it is to run an entire empire, so they see what the Sultan is doing is cruel.. because if it wasn't, they would now be crying over his horrible death, which was caused by his kindness and naivety.

Personally, I would rather guess that the reason why Ibrahim became who he became is that he spent many years in fear of death, similar to Mustafa. Because the executioners could come for him at any time or he could be poisoned it will make a person paranoid and after some time he will go crazy. I am not saying that the loss of a sibling is better, but thanks to the suddenness, shock and other reasons, it is more manageable for the brain than endless paranoia.

It really would have been less about what Ibrahim wanted. Even if he had renounced being a prince, there would have always been groups willing to use his name in an attempt to overthrow whoever else was on the throne. That was the biggest problem in letting someone with royal blood go/live.
