So glad I found this channel. IBS has been sooo stressful for me. It interferes with so much of my life. I feel like I must be near a toilet at all times 😔 it’s gotten so bad that I don’t like being in the car for long periods of time due to not having quick access to a toilet if I need it (embarrassing) and it messes with my ability to socialize because of the urgency. I also experience the mucus symptom.

Yep, my bloating gets so bad that it causes intense nausia and then once enough gas builds in my stomach I essentially throw up/vomit the massive amount of air and feel fine again for about 10 minutes until the process repeats. Or I'm just plagued with tiny burps every couple of seconds until a few hours have passed and I've released all the gas😣

@@jessicaraewood5016 IBS is easily curable through ayurveda(ancient methods for treating various disease in India) If you want to cure ibs you have to take following medicine for aprox 4-6 month with strict diet and yoga. but have no idea these medicine is available in your country but you can get these medicine from India if you have any friend or relative. You must have to check your Navel Displacement(ND) bc ND also have same symptoms and doctor have no test to diagnose it. - Bilvadi churan Or belgiri churan (1tabkespoon after meal morning and after dinner) -kutajghanvati(2-2 tablets after meal) -chitrakadi vati( " " " ") -kurtajharista syrup ( 4 tablespoon with equal amount of water two time after meal) it's good to cure diarrhea and you can take ishabol instant of this if you have constipation. I have: Bloating, abdomen pain, tiredness, nausea ✅ daily Mucus, back-ache, incontinence ☑️ yes but only very rarely Problems peeing: as a male, this one was unusual to diagnose, & only came up after decades of other symptoms. The cause was actually pelvic-floor-muscle pain. My pfm was worn out from the constant tension, so because emptying my bladder uses the pfm, I experienced very painful soreness after peeing. I went to pelvic physiotherapy, learnt some stretches & keggle exercises, & I’ve been able to manage it ever since.

I used to not eat because my tummy would hurt all the time, I cut out gluten thinking that was my problem and it kinda resolved it, but I still had bloating, cramping, and constipation. After years of going to the doctor thinking it was gluten intolerance, being told I would be fine “just eat better,” not being able to go to school because I was always in pain, I finally got diagnosed. The low FODMAP diet did wonders. Dicyclomine has saved my life when I do decide to eat foods that trigger my ibs. I’d say some days are harder than others, but I’m just glad there are others that have shared this journey.

Becky, I don't quite know what to say, I actually have tears!! I was diagnosed nearly 30 years ago, after my first Wedding (should have been a clue!) and was told to eat a high fibre diet, i.e; wholegrain bread, bran flakes etc. It took me a year to realise that actually made my sypmtons worse, terrible bloating etc and my GP at the time just kept prescribing medication. My symptons eased tremendously when I went on a diet and I realised it was because I was cutting out bread and cake. Fast forward to around 8 years ago. I started to do my own research and discovered the link between gluten and ibs flare ups. So I went GF, on my own, with 4 children and a husband that weren't, it was hard. Like many other's, I no longer like to socialise, especially where food is involved. Unfortunately, I am one of the minority that has ALL of the symptons. And it sucks. Bad. But having just watched your video, it was a light bulb moment. I was diagnosed with S.A.D's around the same time and I am now thinking that it was a mis-diagnosis. I never feel depressed in the Winter, I feel tired and foggy headed and just blah. Anyway, thank you Becky for making this video, my husband is now going to watch it to get an insight of what I have to deal with and have dealt with for nearly 30 years. Cxx

I constantly yo-yo between diarrhea and constipation - constipation is arguably worse because I remain bloated and with cramps for days until the blockage finally clears. Generally speaking, bloating is a near-constant symptom for me unfortunately, but I've found that peppermint oil capsules do help with that, as well as reducing the amount of pain I have. I'd definitely recommend to take peppermint oil on a daily basis. I also get backache and do struggle to fully empty my bladder.

My one big tip I find manages stomach cramps is lots of fibre to bulk up your stool. Eat wholemeal bread pasta and rice not fruit or veg. Keep diet bland no spices or alcohol. Gradually reintroduce fruit and veg . I find alcohol a real no no . IBS tends to linger but I find managing it a very realistic proposition .

Hey Becky. I too get IBS but I thought I had better mention, that mine is just one condition I have had for a number of years, as part of my disability of Fibromyalgia. I developed Fibromyalgia some years after a serious horse-riding accident. I was diagnosed with severe Fibromyalgia at a specialist hospital in London. I understand Fibromyalgia can vary in its severity, from mild up to severe, which I have. I get chronic pain all over my body, joints, muscles, tendons, all day every day. I also get chronic fatigue, all day every day, as well as cognitive dysfunction, including brain fog. I also get carpel tunnel syndrome. I had to give up my job and I only get about four or five hours of energy a day, to do everything, so I can barely look after myself and have to prioritise tasks. About two or three days a week I am bed-bound most of the day. I thought I would mention it as you say you have IBS and pain and fatigue, and I know Fibromyalgia affects many more woman than men. Hope this is helpful but let me know if you would like to chat about this.

I too have fibro, and IBS-C. I wasn’t sure if my fibromyalgia (20 plus years) would ever stop being a constant flare up. Then one day, it just eased up and got a little better. And then a little more and a little more. Don’t get me wrong, I still have near constant pain, and times when I can’t get off the bed or couch, but these bad times are not every day, not even every week most of the time! I alway wondered how long I could continue to work. When Covid hit, I had been only working 12-24 hours a week due to the fibro, but could no longer even do that, because they could no longer work with my accommodations That seems to be when my flare ups got better also. I think I just now realized that. However that also seems to be when the IBS symptoms got worse….. I doubt I was eating any better or healthier because I was in healthcare doing 12 hour overnight shifts in a hospital. I was also diagnosed as a celiac probably close to 15 years ago ( but am sure I had it as a young kid), but never went gluten free completely until the beginning of 2022. 9 months ago and that is when my IBS really went crazy and my symptoms got much much worse. I don’t know which came first, the IBS or the Fibro, but for me I tend to think maybe the IBS could have even though I was diagnosed with it later. We both know fibro symptoms can be horrible, not just the pain, but the brain fog, fatigue, stress, worry associated with the pain and if life can ever be NORMAL again. Eating issues from not feeling well or hurting all the time, back ache, neck joints, tendons…… etc. many of the exact same symptoms of IBS!

Great video. In case this helps anyone - I’ve had ibs for about 10 years and i recently (five months) found drinking metamucil 3x a day has helped a great deal even though my ibs is ibs-D. You’d think it would make it worse but it’s really helping. Also thanks so much for sharing your symptoms, makes me feel less alone/crazy. I also have backache, joint aches and fatigue, and also some of the other associated symptoms on that list. Have worn leggings for the past three years or so - gave up on jeans because of bloating! I had some tests and colonoscopy and it’s ibs and not something else, so at least I know what I’m working with... your videos are so helpful thank you!

You should take crude olive oil. Depending on how constipated you are, take anywhere from 2-4 ounces at night, at least one hour or two after your last meal. Fiber without any chemicals or sugars is also good. No more Metamucil! Use natural medicine instead 🙌

I have all of these symptoms x100. I also feel run down, like I’m about to come down with a cold. I also have sudden flushed feelings when my stomach decides it doesn’t like the plain meal I just ate. It’s been a frustrating 15+ years. Found out 6 years ago I also have Celiac disease and other food sensitivities which have made things difficult. Your videos have helped me in a way where it’s nice to know I’m not alone and there also people going through these things but in the moment you feel you’re alone in all this.

In not very bad cases, the intestines are bothered, this is due to the condiments or spices that are put on the food, chemical preservatives that are very subtle but added to others can do a lot of damage, fungi. I usually have these things coconut oil ( is very important) on my toast or in my food. Lemonades with sodium bicarbonate, drink in half a glass of water with a splash (like 2 tablespoons of soup) of apple cider vinegar in the morning and at night. if I have mushrooms I use salt in my mouth, a condiment called cloves, luckily God bless you.

Hi Becky just watched ur interesting vid. I have crohn's and many of these symptoms are similar. Don't know if might help you but maybe think about having a B12 injection, might perk you up have a look on google you can have them done privately. I'm supposed to have one every three months but can't get in at docs. Cost me £40, I feel a bit more perky. It helps you absorb goodness out of ur food, just a suggestion have a look...

Another thing that I get which I've been told by my doctor is an adrenaline high. I get this when I get terrible gripes feel sick belly is terribly painful and I need to go to the loo like now!!! My forehead is covered in beads of sweat. Once I've been to the toilet the pain is gone the sweat stops and it all lasts about 30 mins. I dont get this often. I have Coeliac disease I've had it 43 years so i know it's not a Coeliac symptom. Doc said this is an ibs symptom and referred me to gastroenterology for a check up this was before lockdown and still not had any appointment x

This is amazing information. I have 8 symptoms of the 11 described. I am not diagnosed yet by a doctore but after the colonsocopy I am sure this is what I will be diagnosed at as all other test results were negative. For the last 3 weeks I have been attached to the toilet night and day. The pain is excrutiating. Will I be able to leave the house again?

I have gas pains and fatigue, sometimes cramps, but the worst symptom is the random sharp pains on my belly and on my back, I really thought I had Chron disease but after a colonoscopy my doctor said my intestine were impeccable and it was probably IBS, but sometimes it feels like I'm totally inflamed on the inside.

The pain was also what made me go to the doctor. Ive had this since I was like not even 10. I thought this was normal. I thought it meant I had to go to the bathroom bad. I started to notice it happened to me a lot so I asked my really good friends about it. Noone knew what pain i was talking about. So I went to the doctor and duh duh nu diagnosed with IBS so its new diagnosis for me. Learning about it. Not scared of it. I suffered blindly my whole life got through it. I get constipation all the time and my bowel movements are never normal I learned. Idk why its messed up. And yes I feel immense amounts of relief after. I feel bad if its never that satisfying for people lol

I’ve had ibs for 30 years. Since I was 9 years old the things that trigger mine is fizzy drinks, lactose I don’t drink cows milk and if I miss meals. I haven’t had ibs for ages -until today. I went for an hour walk into town I felt the urge to go loo. The toilets where closed so I soiled myself! I had to find another toilet and it was coming out when I was rushing to find the other toilets in the shopping centre a 10 min walk away. Lucky I had just been shopping and had spare trousers and knickers. I nearly passed out I was sweating and I was vomiting in the shopping centre. Luckily I managed to get a lift home. I finally got home and was on and off the toilet for 2 hours after. I couldn’t wee for ages but needed too. I’m not exhausted. Next time I’ll make sure I don’t miss breakfast and eat less carby food.

Oh my god that sounds awful and a nightmare of mine. I have nearly been caught out so many times usually when I’m driving and trying to get home and having a bad flare for nearly 3 months now. Consequently I hardly go anywhere anymore and it’s always very local, within 5 minutes from home, if I do venture out which is honestly hardly ever because of the fear of the pain and urgency coming on so quick. It has controlled every aspect of my life for about 20 years now and it’s just horrible to live with.

i find it difficult at night when the toilets are closed. Also in parks when they only accept 20p by card and I don't have contactless. I wear black trousers a lot. I sometimes don't have poo control at all which is a big problem. When I go out, I have to wear adult nappies, a snap on plastic knickers and an waterproof overtrousers which I an easily put on outside. I am also considering taking a camping loo with a cat litter bag etc so I don't block up the loos in public cafes etc So having a Poo Disaster Bag will help reduce the embarrassment and indignity. I do find it difficult in Urban areas to have a IBS flare up

Hello thank you for the videos very helpful, I am just starting on my low fodmap journey after having IBS for many years and not knowing where to turn for help. After many visits to docs with no help and no diagnosis and refused access to dietary or gastro services. I have now managed to get an app with a gastro specialist after refusing to leave the docs without one. What does confuse me is the timing of symptoms after eating the problem food. I keep a food diary but don't know the time span I should be looking at to see what has upset me. Would it be food from the previous day or even the day prior to that ie, 48 hrs before symptoms? I am finding it all very confusing at the moment. Any info would be very helpful.
