I'm playing a swamp crocodile build myself now and it rocks. I went with Hideous Stench and poisonous, primal crocodile, ritual canibals and experienced seafarers (because I want to become a Naga later on and use this dude from my panthon in maps with more water). Having a good time, resilient as hell and diminishing magic resistance on enemies FTW.

Spider build with primal. Spider mount with tunnel spider spirit,with warden and full matured vampire spiders as Front lines.And try to include Alchemist tomes for the tonik (and more Mist/gas shenanigans).with root tomes for the poison too.The rest is easy boost animals and supporters.The culture attributes for the people swarmers and settler for RAPID expansion (more lairs for the spooders) one of the other traitsshould be sneaky.One Disandvantage is you start in the underground,less place and few dens but juicy knowledge.With the roots from the mounts you have more CC options.Try it.And ty for your builds very inspiring. :)

I'm pretty much building exactly this as the next one. Without the mounts as of yet though.

Hey. Thx for content. Your builds are amazing, however I couldn't make this one work. Brutal difficulty. Big map with islands. I made several vassals from free cities and killed one AI early-mid game.I kited, won most fights without any loses. Late game I got swarmed by necro armies and couldn't resist them all. I've also thought a lot about forest synergy while i had swamps for everybody.

Thanks for letting me know! In all honesty the Primals are still one faction where I feel as if I'm not using their potential best. I'll revisit these guys, as I'm working on a new batch of builds. Brutal difficulty I fear will always be a territory where some builds lose vs other builds more. In the case of yours, Necromancers are extremely good at being obnoxiously hard to kill AND summon themselves. I'd need to play a few more rounds myself to see if it's a mistake in the build or a weakness vs Late Game Necros in general. I got to say that Necromancers have quite a scary late game nowadays!

You could in theory play a rush down build with the serpent. Just focus on blinding the high damage targets and dumping everything into damage / crit / mobility. No idea how well it would work out, ive got some ideas but havent yet tried it. It would be unique if nothing else. It may even be worth using more of your racial units mixed in with that gold bonus. Chargers may even be worth fielding.

There is a specific spell in one the order tomes 3 maybe 4. It ranks up your unit which pairs perfectly with evolution

Hi ICON. I love your guides...and as A side note I love your Conquests of Elysium guides as well! Question for you regarding your guide set up. I know you are playing brutal difficulty, but what are your other main map set ups? Are you playing on a medium or large map? How many AI opponents? Also, are you just fighting the Infestations/neutral mobs or are you killing at least one AI opponent? Just looking for expectations on my end as far as how long a game would typically go if I used one of your guides

Hey so i am not really good at making efficient builds even in games like DnD, so I want to ask if you could make a Naga build (the new tome that gives Naga transformation). I wanna roleplay but not sure what the best build is for a tome like that.

Not knowing what I was doing I chose the same crocodile god for a diplomatic victory hoping to stay in my swamps and let others fight for me. Let's just say I surrendered on turn 30. I played on a custom map with infestations and oh boy I was not prepared... My druids were ambushed by tier 5 infestation units and game over...

Is Champion or Wizard King preferred for this?

Wizard King for me personally, as the extra combat casting power helps immensely.

The only problem with the Primal builds (except for the wolf) is that the terrain the den creates does not allow for Foresters, which gimps your development. Wish I had known this since you start next to a crocodile den, and you think you should claim it sooner rater than later. I was wrong, I should not have claimed it till my population was around 12. I think this needs to be addressed, so as not to gimp the culture that favors Ashland, Swamp, Sand, etc., and not just the Primal cultures. If I chose to create a Frostling race, the same might apply though much later.

Yes, I agree to the fullest. This is momentarily one of the most uncomfy things about the Primal culture in general and I hope for some sort of workaround that does make things a little bit less confining and weird.

@@Ic0nGamingI thought about it and by not claiming the Crocodile Den I am gimping myself by not getting the food bonus, and it seemed to me I needed to unlock the den for other reasons too. Kind of a darned if you do, darned if you don't scenario.

With the nerf of once per battle and only 3 turns duration, is this build completely worthless? It seems now could just use any culture and rely on wildspeakers and summons? Feudal might synergize most with stand together, nice cav and the evolve peasant.

The nerf didn't hurt the build nearly as much as it sounds. The Primal Summons merely got into line with all the other summon abilities ingame. Usually you have gained so much advantage after all the summons that you usually don't really need a second round of em in my experiences.
