I really liked the idea of a Ways of War Dragon build so I used your video as an inspiration for the build I played today. I went a slightly different build though becaue I wanted either all Dragons or everthing either flying or mounted on a dragon. It went something like this: Racial Traits: Adaptive, Blessed Dragon Mounts, Elusive Society: Oathsworn -Harmony (So I could get the Tier 3 Archer Unit on Blessed Dragons) Cultural Traits: Runesmiths, Prolific Swarmers (for faster city growth) Ruler: Order Dragon Tomes: Tome of Evolution, Tome of Discipline, Tome of Glades, Tome of Shades, Tome of Subjugation, Tome of Dragons, Tome of Prosperity, Tome of Oblivion (for Fog of Madness), Tome of Crucible, Tome of the Goddess of Nature. I was going for an Expansion Victory type, with a Goodie Good Playstyle. I played on the new WoW map but added the Unbound Tomes map trait. It was a ton of fun watching the enemies beat themselves to death before my armies full of dragons set them all on fire. Most of the Tomes I used for their unit enchantments. Have Fun :)!

I tried something similar (mystic summoner culture) and rushed the wizard tower and astral +1 rank to magic origin Every summoned in wyvern was 48 astral echoes to transform into a tier 3 unit So any that died I just summoned and evolved using the astral echoes Works in unleashed beasts as the wyverns are both beast and dragon so work well with dragon tome Ascension perk as well as the 'giant growth" but for animals boost too, add a dragon rage on top and a 3 stack of 3x6 T3 wyverns fighters, and skirmishers is pretty powerful especially with the nature tome buffs for all animals, and the the astral tome for all magic origin Really easy to buff them up as the summoned wyverns are: Magic origin - (so there is a mass heal in the astral tomes for all the units) - which also mean they all get +1 strengthened and healed when a spell is cast (summoner mystic) Beasts - so they benefit from beast buffs and cavalry buffs in nature tomes Dragons - draconic rage for +30% DMG when below 65% hp and other buffs like the added defence and resistance from the ascended dragon perk on ruler

I did a very similar build before as well! Wanted to get off of the Mystic Summoner Culture for once though to try out new variants of Dragon Builds.

If you can find the affinity points to do it. The trait that makes summoning spells cheaper is very nice for calamity dragons
@ZarpdАй бұрын
The Tier 1/2/3 tomes in this build give you 5 chaos and 5 affinity. I feel like 1 chaos society trait and 1 order society trait (one of the vassal ones maybe?) will let you pick up both T4 dragon tomes, regardless of culture. I feel like I do not understand the value of High culture here. Is it purely for Awakeners? Or does the extra 1 research post and bonus from stability really help out that much? I am trying to make my own "King of all dragons" build and can't quite get it to work. I figured Mystic summoner would be the way to go, seeing as how the Prosperity and Calamity dragons are magic units... but that falls into the usual trap of it becoming a wyvern build instead of a dragon build. Very interested in your reasoning here. I always learn so much from these videos!
@Ic0nGamingАй бұрын
The idea behind high Culture is that they make amazing backliners in general for this build. They have high synergy has supporters and battle Mages and go crazy with those Order Tomes. Also you have amazing synergy with city stability on high culture (they get some freebies there on their buildings) and you got good access to research (they have a free research building too!). On top of that you can make your economy go very strong with that easy access to free cities as vassals (the order imperium skills make that happen so easily) and this also helps you out through your early game a lot. Basically High Culture has a really solid start into the game which gives you a good opportunity to get into the late game. And then they have a good array of useful units (awakening is more of an early game crutch in all honesty) as the T3 Battle Mages kick serious ass. So far my reasoning =)

@@Ic0nGaming I've always avoided High culture because I hate how restrictive Alignment Agenda is, but the way you are talking about Awakeners makes me think I must be sleeping on them! Going to have to give this a shot, though I am instantly curious how the healing from stuff like tome of Fey Mists or Discipline will stack up. Appreciate the details! Makes it much easier to understand!

I tend to dislike tome of the beacon, unless playing with some tools to lower enemy's status res.... So, what if we were to take #veryoriginal tome of glades as our first t2 instead? Given that we are high culture, glades alone would sond like a decent "hold the line until dragons arrive" tempo tome, even if we do not invest tooo much into archers latter. I belive it also somewhat works out in affinity department.
@jonasjanszikowsky8825Ай бұрын
I like the build but would a nature + chaos mix not easyer to get your affinities? Also the tier 5 nature thome buffs dragon units
@Ic0nGamingАй бұрын
Definitely a way to go as well. I don't know how synergistic that'd be with the High culture though. Would definitely need an entirely different Culture/Race approach, as your roster and tomes would be set up entirely differently. My biggest issue with Nature Tomes and Dragons is that they are no animal type units so many of the Nature book buffs just don't apply to them
@AeciusthePhilosopherАй бұрын
@@Ic0nGaming I'd say barbarian or Primal is probably the way to go for a nature/chaos build; perhaps Harmony or Strife Oathsworn even. As for nature buffs; if you stick to the plant tomes where you need nature affinity you can get some mileage out of the extra healing which could make already rapidly healing/regeneration evolution/dragon tome units even tankier.

which racial/culture traits would you recommend for the same build but with dragon lord as lead?
@Ic0nGamingАй бұрын
Definitely Cult Of Personality, since it gives you a 2nd Hero very early which helps training your critters up fast. But beyond that, the hero choice was mostly because of making it easier to evolve your Wyverns/Young Dragons

I wish the tier 2 order tome pick was better - although necessary for tier 5 and the alternative overlaps too much with cleansing flame.

All dragons build. "Skip the slithers, we dont have synergy with animals" Bro, slithers are animals AND dragons. Do you even know what you are doing?
@Ic0nGaming3 күн бұрын
All later Dragons are no animals anymore. You'd need Animals Tome for synergy in that regard and I've done that in a build long time ago. Slithers are just not too synergistic into a dragon build, you can still use them sure, but I felt them WAY less useful than the Wyvern in this build. Some politeness would be dope too, I'm not shitting on your opinion either here.

Op ALL THE DRAGONS BUILD and u dont use dragon RULER? gg
@Ic0nGamingАй бұрын
Well, the Dragon Ruler isn't able to evolve units nearly as good as Mortal Heroes are. I usually optimize the builds with "op" in their title around raw stats and therefore the Dragon Ruler fell out, cause he isn't able to support the main strat well enough. Kinda sad though, I would've loved to tweak them in, but it really slows down your early a lot.
