To add to soldiers: recruits are just your normal people. That's why your amount of available people (top left) doesn't go down when you assign recruits. After training they will be assigned a division, where you can set their training level and equipment. The more they train the more they are absent from their real jobs, so they become "real soldiers". Hope this helps PS: please also acknowledge keybinds. When hovering over, for example "road construction" you can press ctrl+h and set a quick keybind. This combined with the shift key toggling the opposite of what you selected (for example removing a building instead of building more) will speed up gameplay by a whole lot.

Seems like a decent bit though, right? According to Steam it seems like it has tons of reviews, so obviously a lot of people have gotten it. Plus there seems to be a small, but healthy modding community so...for a game still in active development and technically early access, I think it's quite in a good state

Oh for sure it has an alright following not saying its doing bad but if u were to ask someone have you heard of songs of syx i'd say 9/10 times they haven't, but as u say it still early days and its off to a good start :)@@ChristoffRevan

Those are epic. As the game gets more and more recognition, i think these videos are gonna have 5 digit views. Also great work on the narration, never once was the video slow or bland!! Also bravo for choosing this update to do your tutorials, since as you mentioned the developer said that with V65 most features are allready in the game!!

Great stuff here as always, thanks! I think you're right about the dirt roads only providing up to 50% fulfillment, and I think some services have this too. You mentioned building more services when the meter is low, but I think e.g. hearths and lavatories cap (at 75%?) until you upgrade them. Hovering over the service bar shows if the missing portion is because you need more or need upgrades. Something I've been trying is increasing food rations rather than selling it, considering food spoils so quickly. This seems to be a huge happiness boost, but producing food takes a lot of effort, so I'm not sure yet what's worth it. Maybe it depends on the trade prices.

And again you brought up something I didn't notice yet, thanks! I already kinda wondered what the benefits of those upgrades really are. Appreciate your add-ons! Herbs seem to be the new bottleneck for Rations, I'll experiment around with em a bit. I see them definitely being upgraded in the newer version, as food is now way harder to store than before (rightfully so).

Yeah, I've been doing a new series for a few versions now because a lot of little fundamentals keep shifting. UI changes can confuse a ton too, new mechanics get implemented (i. e. Water) and so on. Thanks for your kind words, I think the 1.0 Tutorial Series might be the last one I'll do for Syx. Maybe, depends on that crazy dev :D

@@Ic0nGaming Credit to you though. I’ve had the demo a few times and eeeeehhhhh aaarrrggghhh rrreeeaaallyyyy can iiiiiiii? This time I’m sold though and have bought it and thanks to your series am enjoying it so I appreciate it. And don’t worry, we know things can be done better maybe, little things you miss etc but it’s the key fundamentals and gotchas which count and you’re covering them well.

Just a question about haulers. Is there a way to control how much they'll move? Context, I have a small community of Amevians around a lake fishing, raising Globdiens, and harvesting clay. They make more than enough food to sustain their community but I want to send the excess to my main community a good distance away. So can I set it so that haulers only move so much? I may be missing a very obvious button but not seeing anything

Yes, the size of the Hauler defines how much they move. The smallest size fills only one square and this increases with the size of the Hauler "Building". This way you can kinda define how much of some good should be made available by a specific hauler.

14:34 don't blame the version of the game, you're the one who desactivated the job for this wall. Walls and building are two separated things to activate/desactivate. It worked like that on previous versions.

Yeah I still don't like the fact how easily walls can get deleted. And how easily you can delete entire workshops. This part of the UI made me do my worst whoopsies for sure.

why do you make 3 tile wide entrances and not spread the entrances to different sides? is there any benefit to this?
