I've bought a bunch of stuff from ICAN over the years, including a road frame. I've never had any problems with any of it.

The ICAN frames get very good reviews. Especially considering the cost. Looking forward to seeing you review the wheeltop groupset.

The bottom bracket has been bonded in after the frame was moulded . Bladders are used during initial baking . They are removed and the aluminium shell is then installed .

The brake hose hole at 13:00 scares me away from this frame set altogether . Some new road bicycles have brake hoses going around the steerer and not through it . A friend's new gravel bike has the brake hose coming out behind the left fork leg through a small opening . Tricky to replace without a draw wire though .
@stevenleffanue3 ай бұрын
If the hose goes on the outside of a steerer , how does the hose get through the bottom bearing?
@robertmcfadyen91563 ай бұрын
@@stevenleffanue Merida are using grooved steerers to achieve this .
@stevenleffanue3 ай бұрын
So there are still 2 holes in the blade?
@robertmcfadyen91563 ай бұрын
@@stevenleffanue I believe the steerer left leg junction is an implied hole and also a visible one behind the disc brake caliper but 3 inches above it . Specialized have also used this method .
@stevenleffanue3 ай бұрын
So they still need to drill a hole to get the cable into the left blade , then another to exit?
@cyclopenguin3 ай бұрын
no mention of the painted over brake mount holes 😅
@stevenleffanue3 ай бұрын
The calliper mount holes are mentioned and shown. They were very good. If anything, a light scrape with emery paper or nail file.

@@stevenleffanue missed that bit, you're right, they were mentioned.

With this frame you would have to make additional hole in BB area (behind seat tube), if you want mechanical front derailleur installed, side hole would be useless, unless cable stopper installed (Shimano have build in) Because you need to have cable tension to pull make derailleur work.
@stevenleffanue3 ай бұрын
The outer goes all the way to the front derailleur.

So oldschool bars and stems wont fit?
@stevenleffanue3 ай бұрын
The bar and stem will fit. It's a matter of cabling. If you can manage to get the cables into the top headtube it will work.

A bit on the heavy side for a gravel carbon frame 😉
@vromaka3 ай бұрын
This is not a gravel bike. This is a road bike (with aggressive fit) with a wider clearance for tires. Propriatery headset, seatpost. Integrated stem with no chance to fit. Molded into carbon frame alu bsa shell - a very nice solution for galvanic corrosion! Shimano, move you a$$ and deliver finally a wireless groupset, because companies are making some $hit instead of a good frame to fit your idiotic di2...
@martinhotan89463 ай бұрын
Why oh why does a gravel frame has to have a aero seatpost … only makes the ride unnessecary harsh and hard to replace - oh and no dropper post option either…👎
@stevenleffanue3 ай бұрын
I agree , the industry has gone mad about aero. Maybe for racing gravel, but even then, there are more important factors like handling and comfort.
@Dolmar-Rick3 ай бұрын
Why an aero frame for a gravel bike one-piece handle bar doesn't make any sense to me. 🤦🏻♂️ surely light weight and comfort should be top priority.
@stevenleffanue3 ай бұрын
They're all going that way now because wireless gearing means only brake hoses need to be threaded through.
@paulwalker61532 ай бұрын
Because you have ex-world tour pro road riders racing gravel events, and they want an aero frameset than can accommodate wider tyres for off-road.
@lazlo25113 ай бұрын
Gravel frames don’t have that seatpost configuration, no way can you upgrade to a dropper or suspension option. And about that sticker UCI.,, please? What does UCI know about gravel? That’s the sport’s biggest joke! I’ve seen way better products coming from the east. This group has plenty of internal competitors.

I've got a gravel frame from ican. The brand and models (not all) is on the UCI approved list. You can take a look on the UCI website

Considering the thumbnail title I was expecting a product that moved the game on, but instead was left underwhelmed. It's too heavy for starters, some iffy finishing, loose headset, etc. Also, dropped seatstays and a low rear triangle are looking dated, imo. Not the best clearance, esp at the front. This is a dated bike design. Nothing special for me, I would be looking elsewhere.
