I got to say that I'm quite impressed by the mod, it is structured like a proper batman story/game would, with locations and stage gimmicks appropiate to the respective villain and making reference to the source material. I love the concept of you working towards stopping the villains, and then someone releases them in arkaham assylum just for you to fight them again, that is so batman, and also probably the best plot justification I've heard for a boss rush. I also love that the final battle is in the batcave, really closing the circle there.

You do have a few weapons from Azrael, but you're actually playing as Bruce Wayne. Batman Doom is a sort of elseworld of the original comic "Knightfall" arc, where (a far more vicious) Batman actually beats Bane and doesn't has his back broken.

The gloves look like something that Jean-Paul Valley, Azrael, would have worn as Batman. And he had no problem killing Batman's enemies. Of course, they had to explain why he didn't kill characters like Joker.

If they wanted to be faithful to Knightfall, they shouldn't have put that health pickup hefore the final fight. The whole point of Knightfall is Bane putting a sick, mourning Batman (because Superman is dead) through the grinder, so Bane can casually break the Bat. By the time he faced Bane, Bruce was totally and utterly spent.

EDIT: Shit, didn't see Marveller's post, but hopefully I expanded on it a bit. If I remember right, Tally Man made his debut around the same time as the Bane Breaks Batman's Back and Azrael Takes Over As Batman arc, which is what the mod is based on, and I believe when it was made. The mod weapons are based on Azrael's more hardcore Batman gear, for example. Tally Man was actually a pretty interesting but short-lived villain, so his inclusion here could be considered a bit dated I guess. Basically he had this whole backstory involving child abuse and debts to criminal organizations that fucked him up as a kid, so he became a contract killer dressed as an old-timey taxman. I remember reading an intense issue where he had Batman tied to a chair and was playing Russian Roulette with him. So basically he was included for the same reason as Bane and the super Batman guns and the arkham breakout sequence: it's what was big in Batman comics at the time.

Tally Man was one of the villains that took up a chunk of Jean Paul Valley's stint as Batman during the larger Knightfall arc, IIRC. This whole mod seems loosely based on that giant storyline.

Maybe this Batman is Thomas Wayne from Flashpoint Paradox. IIRC, he wasn't above killing. That, or Doomguy said fuck it, hopped through a portal to an alternate universe, killed Bruce Wayne, and took up the mantle of Batman I'm good either way.

Wanna say the blood checks out because this is Knightfall Batman, where Azrael briefly took over post Bruce getting his spine broken by Bane and turned out to be a lot more willing to kill than Bruce would've ever wanted. (It's the reason for his more lethal, high tech arsenal, one of the bosses is the Tally Man, and the final boss of the game is Bane. (It's also the reason why all of Batman's shit was blue and clunky in the original, because that's what Azrael's Batsuit looked like.)

I kind of feel a more appropriate non-lethal plasma gun equivalent (if we were really playing as Bruce Wayne instead of Azrael Batman) would've been something like a high-pressure foam gun that shoots out liquid foam. And the BFG equivalent could be explained as like firing a wide area foam to knock out a bunch of people at once. But yeah the rest of the weapons fit surprisingly well with Batman, because his distaste is toward firearms, not less lethal alternatives like gas grenades and stuff.

I just realized a better non-lethal plasma gun analogue, than what I put down last time, if you really were playing as Bruce Wayne: some sort of high pressure water gun or foam gun. But then hmm what would the Bat BFG be, some sort of massive net foam gun, to account for how the BFG & plasma gun share ammo? As for how you get the ammo out in the field, it's Batman. He probably snuck around sticking caches everywhere ala secrets or in various places.

this game got a lot of influence of the fall of the bat, the one time bane´s master plan to defeat batman and achive it, but got help ans azrael cover the place while he recovers, Azrael redesign the bat suit and develope this gountlets arm with blades, claw, shurikens ( batshaped), flamethronwer and other stuff cuase he said that the belt was to sloppy for face any thing he came with , and in that time tallyman was part of the villains azrael face as batman with a redesign batsiut

To be honest, the weapons that you are using seem to be ripped from when Azereal wore the cape and cowl, and he was a VERY murdery batman. On top of that, when batman first came out, he did kill people. It was only after they decided to market him more towards the younger audience (and introduce Dick Grayson as Robin) that they decided to up his moral code.
