I really liked the Nazis voiceacting. Dunno if the voicelines are original or taken from another source, but it stuck out to me because you get the sense that they're actual soldiers, not some overexaggerated satire about Germans, not some cartoony villains, but just human soldiers. They will alert their comrades when spotting you, they will call for help, they will scream in fear as they're being shot. It really elevates the naturally very rudimentary "doom-esque" combat. Because I was at times really scared of the undead enemies (on account of the blood screams and them being so so fast!), I was sometimes really relieved when I heard the familiar "Hab Einen!" and "Unter Beschuss!". And I love how there's Pyro tf2 voicelines.

I just started playing this and I'm amazed how well it runs. I have an RTX 4060 which isn't the best RT card yet this runs like butter with DLSS 3 on the quality setting. The game looks fantastic and it has revived a game that I started playing back when it first came out and I've played it to death since then. Now, I want to play it all over again.

I'm glad this mod got updated since this, I've been playing it a bit and the weapons are certainly a little different but better. And the nail gun is good for ricochet and killing lost souls in one attack (usually). It also stunlocks, as does the machine gun (AK whatever it is)

Looks good but it also looks like nothing more then a Light amplification glasses. In a few years the textures would be amplified with AI and DLSS 4. But what is the point of enhanced lighting if the original experience is already so powerful?! Performance limitations remains. It’s a matter of interpretation and how you want to perceive the technological experience, like a matter of taste.

Saw the trailer for the remake of this at the 2024 Game Awards. Didn't realise before that it was originally a DOOM 2 mod.

I didn't expect much from a budget game, but as an arena shooter, Bowcross Frightnight is okay. The controls are functional, you may just wanna lower the aim sensitivity a little. I like the monsters, but are they original to this game or just bought assets? Oh well. Luckily, the challenge doesn't come much from technical issues, though I'm not much a fan of being one shotted by most things. If you like Hotline Miami, it's kinda like that, but with less level design variety and more cool monsters. I wouldn't mind playing this from time to time if I have nothing else to do, especially because the titular crossbow is the most badass weapon from 1666... Oh, I see what you guys did there. Gotta love how it's basically an infinite machine gun with a bomb launcher and holy laser. Maybe I'd give it a 6 out of 10 if not for its awareness of its low content level, but you can usually find it on sale for a couple dollars. So for a budget game, I give it a 7 out of 10.
