Great video! More work than I want to deal with, but good info nevertheless.. I'm mad at Apple for putting glass on the back that serves no purpose other than to force everyone to get a case. With case on the back glass is not directly visible so what's the point of the glass on the back of phone?

Indeed. Who is about to $400+ for a GLASS back? Plus my battery is shit now so I have to replace that too. I'm going to get this fixed then trade it in for the phone I actually want-- the Z flip. I never did like iPhone. They've been ripping their customers off since the iPhone 7. Then again, the customers don't actually care so why should they. 😅😅 Saying goodbye to my first and LAST iPhone.

Can recomend to disconnect and remove the battery before doing this. That much heat to the back of the phone is no good with battery inside, and working with metal around the coil can result in shortage of the phone

At least you should have put back the MagSafe magnets you removed. Despite a good glass repair I would not call this a quality repair. Need to improve your procedure more otherwise this kind of repair job in our industry is called a cowboy repair job.

@@azrulhafrizit would work even without magnets, it will not longer have magsafe, for example Ip11 and down to 8 all have wireless charging but no magsafe

They know damn well the glass is going to break. I don’t care if the phone looks pretty, it needs to function and be able to withstand random drops especially when it’s sitting in an $80 - $100 case which is mind-boggling because you get less of a case at a higher price.

go to a repair shop because iphone 14 back glass is serialized, if the procedure is done without ‘take’ the serial of the broken back glass the camera flash would not work.

A cowboy job will not look really well done. But all that matters is that the new glass is adhered onto the device. Apple would use a laser machine, not a heat gun and blade.

Please disconnect the battery before working on any iphone. Literally the slightest touch on that back sliver plate or golden wireless charging rig will short your battery and make your phone die faster.

I would never do this type of work. I just spent 2 hours doing a 13 pro max and it was hell. Tiny pieces of glass landed on my hands, head, and hair. I had protective eyewear and gloves but it's not worth it in my opinion. The risk of glass getting in your eyes/mouth is pretty high. Not to mention there is a chance to damage the components beneath the glass. Im DONE with this garbage.
