Your too young to remember back in the early days, we used glass containers filled with chemicals to throw on fires in the days before fire extinguishers. thats what those glass grenades are. just FYI

It's also worth noting that if the game's name is anything to go by then yes they absolutely did know of Oxygen's role in combustion, the Oxygen theory of combustion was published around 1785 if I am not mistaken. So yeah in the 1800's understanding of potential fire fighting options had moved on from simply "put the wet stuff on the red stuff" to include "keep the oxygen stuff off the red stuff". Probably would have been several years later before experiments with the fairly newly discovered element Oxygen and its role in combustion yielded successful candidates to actually achieve that but probably not much longer. They already had a lot of different chemicals around at that point including some that would have worked for this purpose though not exactly safely but experiments to find these definitely would have been a priority. Humanity had already seen enough of fire to be highly motivated to find better ways to control and extinguish it over the centuries.

Condolences for the loss of two of the Raptorians ships including the flagship. It is suspiciously bias, however @28:13 seems there is a flaw in the gun boat design, out turn them in circles might give a bit of an edge if again one of your frigate is being hunted down by the warmonger's gunboats. I am very excited to see how beautiful Raptoria would be in the future.
