Agree that the ICC definitely need to think about that DRS situation and make sure it doesn't cost someone a title.

Yes hopefully they continue to grow. Solid performance just now against South Africa - fantastic for them that they’ve qualified for the 2026 edition already.

Greeting. Would you guys like to collaborate on the Cricket World Cup and the West Indies Test Tour of England next month?
@thetoporderpodcast4 ай бұрын
Hi there - we’ve got our schedule for the rest of the WC mapped out already, but something for the Test tour might work. Maybe send us a message at: thetoporderpodcast@gmail.com and we can continue the conversation?

While discussing the Indian team you failed to mention Axar Patel and his quiet utility value to the team. It seems he escaped your radar also as he is below the radar of many. Actually that's a boon.😊

Didn’t we talk about how he extends their batting depth? But yes not a lot of chat about India this week because they’ve largely been out of the headlines. Agree that could be a great thing for them to fly under the radar. Expecting we’ll talk a lot about them over the next 10 days.

NZ cricket board will have to do many things to make sure they don’t go out early again in 2026 and 2027 1. The board should make sure the team goes to the venue at least 10 days early and have practice matches instead of arriving late 2. The board should recall back early their players in any T20 league they are playing before the WC to make sure all the players have enough practice time together. The board shouldn’t allow the players to play until a few days before the WC starts as they did this year. No point having players being on bench for their T20 team as it doesn’t help the NZ team 3. Time to start giving more chances to younger players to prepare for the 2026 n 2027 WC as although the seniors still can play at the top level, they have lost the extra power they had in past to win matches.

A lot can change in 2 years but I’d guess a lot of those things will happen organically - the next T20 World Cup is expected to be on Feb/March, so great timing for NZ to prepare well during their summer. Also expect the squad will look a lot different to this one. Hoping a good chunk of these players will be at the 2025 Champions Trophy and then expect that might be the time they look to refresh the white ball setup after that.

@@thetoporderpodcast It should be around 1 am in NZ thus i am humbled that you still replied to my comments. Tqvm .🙏🙏 I also hope that NZ will come back stronger in next WC as they were qualifying for SF in every WC since 2015.

Big news today about Kane, lads! Maybe could work out well for everyone, though?
@thetoporderpodcast4 ай бұрын
If it means he plays test cricket and the major ODI tournaments for longer then that’ll be great for us as fans.

The team with top form is WI with their good performance against Afghanistan today They look well prepared to win this WC Next in my list is Aust n England India n SA are winning but clearly not in good form especially their batters These 2 teams will suffer if their batters still struggle in Super 8. India’s top spinners have not yet played a match in this WC thus they might not be top form in Super 8. Bangladesh and Afghanistan still can cause a surprise against India n need to win the match against each other to qualify for SF
@thetoporderpodcast5 ай бұрын
Yes a lot of the teams have very different paths to the Super 8s, which makes it feel like quite an open tournament at this point where almost any team could hit form for a week and win it all.

Opinions are like arseholes everybody's got one, how about looking at the "LAWS" of Cricket maybe if they put a fieldsman on the boundary maybe just play to the laws of cricket and stop whinging about unfair the game is one has to win the other has to lose
@thetoporderpodcast4 ай бұрын
Definitely not whinging about the result of that SA v Bang game - didn’t matter to us who won or lost - just wouldn’t want to see that happen on the last ball of a final or something like that where people end up talking about the DRS instead of the game.

Bangladesh will prove that girly looking bloke on the left wrong. Eng and aus are over hyped teams. You lot ain't reaching semi

Fair enough - we’ll soon find out who is proved correct!

Brainless Black Caps. Either too old or too much franchise cricket.
