I truly injoy your videos! I am in my first semester...and well...I'm not doing so well. Excuse my "monkey mind"....I was wondering about Practice 2 what if the congestive heart failure and atrial fibrillation be coded under "history", and I checked under personal history in the alphabetical index. The are no history codes for both heart failure and atril fibrillation-so that answered that question. Now I'm stuck on where/when do you use history codes? Thank you!

History codes are used when a condition is no longer present meaning cured but may need follow up later. Think of cured breast cancer. See video on z codes for more information. Glad the videos are useful. Coding is hard but keep at it. It will start to make sense.

@@tropinsmedicalcodingmadeea7551 Thank you for your reply, you are such a large help. The online class I'm taking just tells you got the wrong answer-which is not helpful. I learn off of "whys" or give me the right answer and I can back track from there to understand. That's what I really appreciate with your videos- you provide the "whys".
