today we're watching Ice Age: Collision Course for the first time!
finally wrapping up this franchise, and I feel like it's been such a long journey even tho it's only five movies haha. this one wasn't perfect and, unfortunately, didn't do much for me but I'm still glad I watched it. hope you enjoy this reaction!

In Manny's defence, he isn't just overly protective because he is a parent, it is because he had a family once and he lost them. He doesn't want to lose anyone again, even Peaches leaving home will feel like he is losing her. As for why some of them don't age, people don't change much from 40 to 50, but change completely from 5 to 15.

I mean sure but Manny was old enough to have had a wife and kid sometimes before the first movie started. He lost that wife and kid, met Sid and Diego, spent an unclear amount of time in the Valley from the second movie, met Ellie, spent an undefined period of time married to Ellie before she got pregnant, had a daughter, and then that daughter grew up to marrying age and yet Manny hasn't aged a day through all of this. Even if you wanna say Manny Diego and Sid were in their early 20's in the first movie (they don't act like it but let's just pretend) they should be like 50 now... at least and yet they haven't aged a day, apparently Diego's still young enough to consider having kids.

When it comes to animated movies about talking animals though, unless it's explicitly said otherwise I just assume that the characters age like people and everywhere I've seen says that Peaches was around 15 in the 4th movie. Plus even if they don't age physically would have been nice if they aged in subtle ways. You know, be written like they've experienced more, make their voices sound older. The way Manny and Diego were written and acted in the first two movies made it seem like they were older than they are in the 5th movie, even though a couple decades have passed.

Yeah, the first 3 movies feel like a complete story, a beginning, middle, and end. Manny goes from being alone to making friends to finding love then to having a daughter. The 4th movie feels like an epilogue where Peaches is grown up and it's just an okay movie, but it at least it feels like an Ice Age movie. This movie is just milking the last drops of the franchise where they seem to run out of ideas, main characters were side-lined for repetitive nonsense, scrat was overused. This movie killed the franchise that honestly should of stopped with the trilogy. Honestly, the reaction was more entertaining then the whole movie

It’s weird seeing this series progress. Things like it going from early cgi to amazing animation. Then it going from a down to earth animal movie to space ships and dinosaurs

When i watched the movies as a kid (or the first three at least) i didn't see how much the animation changed. When i watch it now i can really see the CGI is not that great in the first one. It gets better in the second one and i would say it's pretty great in the third one.

Also, since this is the Last Ice thing you'll ever be able to watch, I need to point something out. Sid is supposed to be a Ground Sloth. a Megatherium. Megatherium weighed 4 tonnes and grew 13ft tall. ... I am convinced that Sid is a Runt. XD

You're right! Piranhas for 2, dinos for 3, nothing for 4 and the spaceship for 5. The part where it shows the evolution of sloths was before or after the "prophecies"? Because, if it was after, we might have the grand finalle of the whole franchise.

I will say I can understand Manny's protectiveness in the third and fourth movies because of in the first movie Manny lost his mate and kid to humans before he met Elle maybe he thought he was gonna lose them too and that is why he is so protective but I did think that protectiveness was overdone in this movie. Also when I watched this the first time I swear I zoned out in the middle because I remember watching the first part then suddenly I was at the end XD

Props to you for watching it in it's entirety, I had to quit after 20 minutes. So much happens in so little time and yet nothing makes sense? There's UFOs, space travel, upcoming asteroids, a prophecy, empty nest syndrome, sound design that feels two decades dated, gags that when 4 year olds wouldn't find funny. I literally had to stop, there was no other option. Thanks for being brave enough to review it

I remember watching this film three times, the second time I watched it was when I watched it properly at home when I was really drunk and I was challenging myself to sit through it, but when I got to the wedding, it felt like it belonged in the fourth one, because that's how good it felt, it felt so out of place that it should've been in the fourth film. If anything, this film should've been a film about Scrat in space with no one else having any involvement in the story, because they got their happy ending in the fourth one.

Unpopular opinion: I love this movie ! It is stupid as hell but the animation is amazing and I feel like the spaceship takes you back to the first movie when Sid finds it. Also there’s a fan theory that Scrat is an alien bc all the other animals are/ were real except him so fans decided he was an alien before this movie came out and this movie confirms that theory.

I actually understand a bit of manny being overprotective about his family, dont wanting them to leave and stuff, if you dont know in the first movie, the story from the wall paitings was manny past family's death, while he fought the humans to protect his family, his previous wife and his child got killed by others and he saw it all, the director revealed he was trying to suicide when its shown that he's not following the other animals to scape from "ice age" ;-;

Except that it's NOT the end of Ice Age as Disney through 20th Century Animation is going to bring it back with the Disney+ spin-off film (Ice Age: Adventures of Buck Wild) coming next year, around the franchise's 20th anniversary. Also, there's gonna be a Disney+ short series about Scrat that's gonna be the final production ever produced by Blue Sky Studios, which was confirmed recently that all the shorts were completed before the studio shut down. And there are rumors about another Ice Age series in development for Disney+, but nothing is confirmed just yet. Also back in 2019, there was a spin-off game about Scrat called (Ice Age: Scrat's Nutty Adventure), so overall, the franchise is still alive, but now that Blue Sky Studios is now shut down and Disney fully owns it, I feel like Ice Age might become the next Scooby-Doo, where a couple years after TimeWarner merged with Turner Broadcasting System, Hanna-Barbera was folded into Warner Bros. Animation, and thus Warner Bros. had continued the Tom and Jerry & Scooby-Doo franchises (and a few other Hanna-Barbera franchises from time to time) ever since, and maybe Ice Age could have a similar fate to that, who knows. What do you think?

Another weird decision; Sid being IN LOVE with an old lady. Yep, the sloth girl he met is more than 100 years old; she was young because of a magic crystal. So... the producers of this movie thinks this type of relation, making a cool character useless aka Buck and removing Louis to replace him with a dummy was a good idea? Wrong! Thoses are all terrible choices and didn't make the movie better!

Just watched your whole Ice Age series to be Honest not sure which one I love most because they all are pretty good probably Dawn of the Dinosaurs because you know it's just great, and this movie I mean it was pretty bad but to be fair it's not the worst movie ever! Why does this movie exist? Well, because they needed money and this franchise gives it to them cause everyone loves it. I think they should have kept Louis, he does appear at the anniversary thing at the beginning of the movie but he doesn't say anything. The changes I would make to make it an okay movie: Add Louis to the main party, make him the one that has issues with Julian because of his feelings for Peaches, but making him learn to understand that they're better off as friends, that Julian is the right one for her but also showing how much Peaches cares for him, and just giving them closure as an amazing friend duo. Also I would dig more in the relationship between Louis & Manny (being Manny the one to give him the advice to let go and talk to Peaches) and Louis with Crash, Eddy & Buck. This chaotic trio would give Louis some more craziness, self-esteem and self-confidence. And he would ground the trio with his reasoning and kind heart. I'm not sure what I would do with Shira and Diego, I would give them development of course, but not sure in which direction. I do think that she would have better tracking skills using the air and the water cause of her pirate background while Diego uses the ground. Making them a really competent duo. And just adding Rudy overall and making it the group's transportation with Buck as the pilot. Also eliminate the dino bird family completely, make the group spend more time in the gemtopia place and give the main villain spot to the llama. The extra time on gemtopia would give the characters time for introspection and learning and also using it to give Brooke more development, making her slowly get fed up with the stupid llama and making Sid give her advice to know her self-worth no matter what anyone thinks about her, and that being why she falls in love with him, cause he has learned to love himself even though his family hated him and everyone thinks he's weird and all of that stuff. (maybe it would be too similar to Shira, but.... idk what else to do with them. So Brooke would learn to love herself and not tolerate the llama anymore, she brings the girlboss in her and becomes the leader of this hippie gemland. Then with Rudy's help, they all manage to survive. Also don't hate me for this, but maybe I would kill Rudy, while sacrificing themselves for Buck and everybody else and making them be able to leave the dinosaur land and join the main group for real.

Anyone else notice that they somehow flanderized Sid’s grandma in this movie? In the last movie she had moments where she actually cared about Sid, and was somber with everyone else when they think Ellie and Peaches are dead. In this movie she doesn’t give a crap about anyone. I don’t know how you flanderize a character who only had one appearance before, but Ice Age found a way.

I ain't gonna lie, this is one of those films where I feel like I'm actually losing brain cells when watching it! 😑 Seriously, your reactions and editing are the only saving grace of this video! (Especially 5:27 😂) And to answer your question on why they made this, it's because the franchise was still profitable for some odd reason at this point and Fox still wanted that precious Ice Age money of course (which I think is actually one of the biggest reasons Blue Sky fell apart, they were forced to become too dependent on Ice Age to keep going until it was far too late to do anything else).

"We know they're all gonna live" okay,I got it,you hated it,but that is basically every animated movie,c'mon now. I'm genuinely shocked by all the hate this movie gets,I really don't understand,I find this movie great,to me,it's almost as good as the third one,and I'm also surprised that Granny seems to not be liked,she's the best addition to these last two movies,I love her humor! The reasons I like it this much are because it's very very colorful(like the third)and,therefore,pleasant to watch,the story is absolutely more than decent,I'm a total fan of Scrat in space,hilarious as hell,perhaps the best Scrat sequences so far,surely funnier than in the previous movie,I always thought he and his humor were kinda off there. The new Mammoth entry is not awful as that stupid group in the fourth movie,in fact,we don't have any kind of heavy stereotypical college situations,instead,Julian is wholesome,positive and funny,I thoroughly enjoy him. The weird or totally absent logic and realism are common to many animated movies,and they were already screwed up in the third movie with basically Hollow Earth and living dinosaurs in it,just sayin'. The formula of the movie is like the one for The Meltdown,big catastrophe as the main threat and side sentient villains that don't have too much screentime,villains that I loved btw,flying Dakotaraptor?Yes,please,and I love their development too,I really much enjoyed the weaker one especially,he was reasonable yet funny,and it was so sweet how he made change the father's mind! Our Buckmister is back,I don't need to say more. Last,I can kinda see the complaints about Ellie and Manny,they feel different,Manny in particular,but these are new situations for them,parents that don't want their son/daughter to go away from them after the marriage is a classic,and no,this is not the same thing as the previous movie,there,it was between Peaches and Manny only,and was about him being a hyper-protective dad,here,it's both Ellie and Manny that are afraid to let Peaches go,and I absolutely don't mind their whole plot to prevent it

I never noticed the lack of aging thing until you said something. lol But, then again, other movies have it too. Like in X-men with the prequels, Xavier and Eric stay the same from the 1960s all the way to the 1990s even though it's been 30 years and they should have been middle-aged men by then. But, while this movie is probably at the bottom of my list, I don't think it's horrible. The first 3 are definitely my favorite whereas the other two are like 6/10 for me. But, I've seen far worse sequels that I don't even consider canon. At least this is a nice little entertaining movie overall if you don't take it seriously. lol
