For snow and ice effects with paint, I would add a light drybrush of a pearl paint, the pearlescent effect on parts of it adds a tiny bit of the sparkle to it beyond other things.

This was fantastic work and reminded me of my great ideas, plans and thus great laziness: I don't like 50 board games in my shelves, it looks like a day care. What I had planned on doing was making hollow over-size magical tomes the board games would fit in, and box sets ala your book nook; sans the minis ofc. Making an AWESOME display of "huge arcane tomes" in my shelves.....but really just Gloomhaven, Tainted Grail ect.

I've yet to start my first adventure into making my own diorama. 2020 was the year to get to know the craft through awesome artists like you and 2021, after watching videos just like this to inspire me, feels... Promising 😉 Btw, the hook coming out of the book nook, as well as the waterfall really brings the book nook to a whole new dimension, it surely isn't "trapped" in its (awesome wooden) case! Seeing these book nook projects and the creativity in them makes me want to build a few of my own. One of them is definitely going to end up being at least one featuring Drizzt Do'Urden (because I have the entire series of books), among other possible ones I might build. Problem is going to be space. As in where the heck would I put them in my book shelves? LOL It does make me wonder about the genesis of these things, though.
