Idky some people get so mad at folks that use the term African American. Many people were taught that this was the appropriate phrase to use so as not to be offensive to black people. They are trying their best, in using this term, to be respectful. New terminology comes along every few months it seems like. I grew up listening to Ice Cube. Grew up listening to N.W.A (even when they were World Class Wrecking Crru) I was a middle class white guy surrounded by middle class white guys. Living in a suburb of San Diego, very conservative place at the time. We watched Boyz n the Hood. We saw and heard what we had been sheltered from our lives. We were entertained as well, showing my parents the movie Friday and they liking it. My mom buying the soundtrack. Never would’ve thought two conservative patents would be into music and movies I was into at the time would ever happen. You gave that to us. I saw you in concert, saw you at The Clash at three Coliseum a few years back. My mom was dancing with the thousands of people in the stands. Much respect to what you’re doing here Much respect for going out and trying to make a difference meeting with opposing sides and differing opinions.
