You should check out the video that "Uncut Angling" just put out in regards to that barotrauma study. Seems like one reason why many of those crappies didn't survive is because of the net. The fish don't swim straight down to bottom, they swim down at an angle, and because of the net they were bumping into it and it was preventing them from swimming down. Really informative video that has some other tips for releasing fish from that depth.

Biggest otter I have ever seen was over Five feet long and that was on the chairs river in Waltham ma it was running on the ice it's foot marks in the snow were all most 7' feet apart. That was 15 years ago. I'm in SC now no more ice for me. I do miss it good hunting God Bless marry Xmas
