Ice Fishing at Crooked Lake Near Lake City Michigan

Crooked Lake is a place that often gets over looked by many area fisherman. This lake is a 500 acre body of water for the ice fisherman that is looking for peace away from heavy traffic and city pressure. Crooked Lake is located in Missaukkee County just west of Lake City. Located just south of an old lumber town called Jennings. Known by the local area fisherman as the tropical waters for Fish Species: black crappie, bluegill, green sunfish,northern pike, walleye, and yellow perch. What makes this lake so special is the consistency in depth out around the shore. The depth measures consistency at approximately 5 to 6 feet. There is some deeper holes measuring at a depth of 10 to 12 feet if you feel adventures in fishing those holes.

The access points I recommend is thru the Missaukkee county camp ground. This campground is closed for the season but the access to the lake is open for winter ice fishing. Although the access is open I would strongly suggest that you assess the road way on the grounds prior to taking up fish camp for the day. The mild inclines up and down to the boat launch area could become a challenge in inclement weather.

Grew up fishing it , dude has no clue about the muskie and bass
