Ice Fishing for GIANT INLAND Brook Trout!

In the latest episode of Wisconsin Fisherman we headed to a lake that is know to have some big brook trout in it. We were surprised to find some quality fish and even catch a Wisconsin State Record for catch and release! We'll be heading back to try for a bigger one!

Those were pretty brookies. I often see people catch those big ones with beat up tails from the hatchery, but those look clean. In Canada they mostly stock 8-10 inchers and they grow in the lake, but more are smaller of course… cheers🎉

The only dough bait I have ever had success with for Brook Trout is the Brown Gulp.

nice brookie! around me they prefer minnow over anything else. recently a friend of mine kept 2 and they were full of frogs. im going try pounding bottom with a frog imitation bait for the bigger ones. may be worth a shot!

I just got a brand spanking new garmin striker four as an early chrismas present. I cannot wait to use it. The only problem is mother nature is not playing nice and we barely got an inch of ice in most of the lakes. Anyway tight lines pal.

Yes they stock them at an average of like 50 fish per year that are average 17” so there are old ones in there!
