Ice Fishing the Arctic [BIG Lake Trout - BIG Blizzards - BIG Northern Lights]

We are BACK in God's ice fishing country - the place where the dream all began - in the WAY up north in Baker Lake Nunavut. After a string of horrific back to back to back blizzards, I was finally able to sneak out on the ice in pursuit of some big mama lake trouts.
also, I was able to get a cool shot of some vibrant northern lights while digging the gear out of the mess that the blizzard made...
feels good to catch an absolute mama of a laker and a pile of other nice ones to boot!

Used to exploration drill up there and on down time I explored a lot but I remember drilling holes for water and having steps to stand on to drill down into the ice cause it was so thick.

@@JustinJenkenAssortedMeats every frigging time it’s something! Leave the house at 5 am. Take 10 minutes to drive to the lake. Sled won’t start. Work on that for an hour. Get that going. Then burry it in slush 5 mins into the ride to my spot. Two different times. Get to my spot. Go to fire up the auger and the throttle is frozen from the slush. Set up the tent get it kinda wanted up and drill my holes. 3.5 hours from when I left my house to my first hole drilled. Caught zero fish that day.
