I grew up in Canada, and Indian heritage. Grew up playing ice hockey, on the frozen ponds and rinks in Canada. Seeing hockey develop back in the Motherland brings tears in my eyes. Adam Sherlip, Akshay Kumar (hockey federation), and other people such as Akshy Kumar (bollywood actor), Gautaum Gambir (Indian Cricketer) and many others from volunteers, supporters who somehow contributed to the development of Ice Hockey on the Indian Subcontinent, and for People of Indian Heritage .....THANK YOU !

Get lessons first, it's a must if you want too. Also try to get roller blades, so you can practice skating while not on the ice. Ice time will not always be available so that will help. Roller blading isn't exactly the same, but it is a good off ice thing to do to help train.
@cavanmiller16529 жыл бұрын
Get some skates, and go to a local rink. Find some people who seem to know what they are doing. Talk to them. Ask them questions. Remember even the best players to touch the ice were beginners at one point. Once you have built up skating confidence, look into hockey programs at that rink or near you.
@Desborough_Heathen9 жыл бұрын
+Gloomy Pigeon The friends you'll make through playing hockey will make it totally worth it. Hockey teams are like families. Find your nearest rink, get some skating lessons and get on it. It's expensive to start, but when you've got all your kit it's not so bad. I'm almost 31 and I started playing in December. My team really made me feel welcome and they all help me out where I need it.

Indians and hockey are a great mix. I live in Canada and in the part of Quebec I live in, sadly not a lot of people actually know about the sport (it is very diverse and a lot of the white people don't even care, it's mostly French Canadians like me that like it) But the Indians seem to adore it. All of my Indian friends know the league by heart, who is the best player from each team, their stats, etc. Sometimes, they can talk to me about active players I've never heard about (like Martinsen before he was traded to Montreal) :D

My ankles really hurt bad when I am skating. I got a new pair of skates like 8 weeks ago and it still hurts. It fits with finger rule and width, and I tie it really tight yet it still hurts, it hurts the part of my leg which is right above the skate tongue. I have tried wearing thick socks, wearing 2 socks and putting a bandage wrap on that area and it still hurts, and bends inwards a bit. When I'm skating backwards it hurts so much, to the point where I can't even finish the drill. What should I do?

see if you can get any lace bite pads, those might help
