Finally a lake trout episode where someone actually keeps one! I know it's not the preferred size to keep but from what I can tell there are enough Colorado anglers helping the conservation efforts lol; fish are for eating! Thanks for the video.

Nice video bro! What pound of line are you using for those lake trout? Would 10-15 be good enough for those type of lake trout (smaller ones)

Whomever kept that fish if you’re reading this comment return fish like that in the future man it’s over 32 years old full of mercury and too much fat to get any quality meat, could keep the eaters. Having said all that nice fish good work, it’s your right to keep I suppose

I couldn't agree more. Sad to see a fish like that taken out of the lake. The big girls deserve to live. I noticed you said Yan was your "guest". If you truly took him fishing, you need to advocate for the fishery. If you teach someone how to catch fish like that, you have the ability to speak up and say, we don't keep fish this size and this old, we're putting her back.

If you aren't keeping fish. It's a good idea to not shove fingers In their gills. It can really hurt them. Please dont.. the better we treat them the more there will be. Not to mention lunkers. I like the lunkers. So maybe don't take those out of the lake too. actually, why not only keep fish that are good to eat. Or just go to the grocery store. I can go to that lake ans catch good eating rainbows all day long. I love the macs. Not for eating. For love. Leave them be

Yes I don’t eat macs either. Love catching them too. The guy Yan who was there that day decided to keep his. That was his choice. Sad to see that laker go. But he was free to make his own decision. He was just a random fisherman. Never saw him again! Thanks for watching 🙌🏻

That guy routinely keeps giant lakers from that lake. My dad and brother saw him keep one even bigger than this. and I’ve seen other pictures of him there taking giant lakers. It’s a shame. Over time he could and probably has single-handedly hurt that fishery..

I see both sides of it but Colorado isn’t like some states where fish are by the millions !! We have limited lakes with big fish in them that we can show off with a quick picture and let the fish go cause of so many fisherman and so little water. It’s his choice to keep it but that’s why our lakes are less full of fish and guys like reel hustle going to Wyoming more and more to be completely honest
