Wow. Here I am just learning about the death of Darrell Ward, six years after he passed away. Tragic. Life goes on. Glad to see his son Reno was ready and able to fill his Dad’s big shoes. No doubt Darrell will be there riding along with his son on the ice roads from time to time, and Reno may sense his presence.

I like how he stood up to the Polaris boss after he took a truck load away from him. He just pushed him away when he tried to challenge him. Like he said, get out of here little man! The Polaris boss would have gotten his butt kicked. Darrell was fearless and not afraid of anyone. I admired that about him and I rooted for him and his company with Lisa Kelly to succeed. He will be missed but not forgotten. I only watched the show because of Darell and Lisa. RIP Darell Ward

I guess he should have stuck to trucking. It’s tough enough to keep the ‘shiny side up’ with only the ‘x’ and ‘y’ coordinates to deal with... Once you add that ‘z’ coordinate, all bets are off. The complexity of adding that third dimension is exponential, for so many reasons. It’s why the loss rate is so high in flying small aircraft.

Man this is f'd up. I just finished watching a random ep. of the show and figured that I'd Google that what's up with the show currently. To find out that he has passed away... That's rough... I remember like it was yesterday when Darrell was first introduced in the show and he instantly became my favorite. I really hope he found his American Dream. So unfair... RIP.

Deweys cousin was the one killed. Dewey was involved in a fatal accident however when a car crashed into his semi in Shelton WA. He was uninjured

Loved watching one of the greatest of truckers. Darrel could do any and everything it took to get the job done. Probably my favorite ice road trucker ever along with his company owner Lisa Kelly. Darrel Ward truly a legend and truly missed.

It broke my heart the day I heard The Montana Legend left us. Darrell Ward was truly one of a kind and I still miss him. I can't watch Season 10 or the episode his son stepped up to join Lisa without crying. RIP Darrell...we miss you dearly.
