One thing I ABSOLUTELY ADORE about Rod: He just makes up things to sing to himself to entertain himself and keep himself happy. It’s honestly super cute…he’s been doing that since he was little! But it’s also sad when you think about it… Rod is now 43 years old and his singing sounds more…forced. Manic. As if he was trying to keep himself from breaking down into a traumatized, utterly anguished mess. Singing keeps him happy. While following with his plan, he CANNOT let himself break, but he’s on the damn verge. He’s put up this evil, insane façade…singing about killing kids and harming others..but deep down, he’s really doing all of this…so he can feel understood. He went through HELL as a child, and nobody cared…and nobody respected him. So he’s gonna show them what a mistake it was to hurt him the way they did..

Indeed. His voice is so beautiful with a hint of adorableness to it too. A nasel low voice that is soothing, appealing with a hint of a childish tone to it ❤ Also good observation, as someone who had been following Rod around in the older IS games I've played a few years ago & also observed his behavior, I always thought that he often sings to himself because he just enjoys it somehow & is a bit of a mini hobby for him, though I have to agree about how you see it. Singing can sometimes be used as a distraction from all the worries & struggles or even an escapism of some sort. Since that Rod is a manic person ofc it makes perfect sense
