This is Joe’s take. Dee two things can be true. Just because people are calling out Ice doesn’t mean we don’t think Cleo made mistakes along the way. I’m sorry but I’ve also heard from artist who have been invited as an opener saying Cleo’s ask was the bare minimum. Yes Cleo went wrong not including her team (even when told not to). However, I’m still stuck on how her friend treated her that’s it. Yes friend of 2 years confirmed by Ice. They fell out then got back cool again like any irl friendship according to the both of them. Cleo mistakenly thought Ice was her friend. Her mistake, call it a lesson learned. Why sneak to have dinner, just be upfront about it. Why not feed your own hairstylist and makeup artist (are they not part of the budget too)? So they wouldn’t tell Cleo who befriended them on the tour (that’s sus af). Everything else, yes contract… I don’t follow either like that (honestly it’s the first time I heard of Cleo unfortunately) but Spice is effed up for that.

The context of knowing what’s to be expected on a tour is worthwhile to share but 1) Joe isn’t known to be a good friend and men don’t really share beds platonically like women do; and 2) Cleo wasn’t allowed to bring staff which again, is WEIRD. Saying Cleo “needed to involve her team” when Ice’s team prevented her from being with them is retconning the situation. Remember Cleo wasn’t allowed to have anyone backstage or on the bus with her, Ice’s team didn’t approach Cleo’s management about the opportunity and gave her a 1 day notice. This is definitely a learning moment for Cleo but Ice’s team acted unprofessionally as well. I’d also like to add, even if Cleo was meant to pay her way through, why didn’t Ice’s team give her an itinerary and say: this is where we’re staying, make sure you have accommodations ready; this time is what we have blocked out to eat, get yourself food?

Accountability definitely depends on who you watch. LovelyTi was very fair with her assessment, she called out Cleo and Ice Spice appropriately. Things could have been handled better by BOTH parties. On Cleo's side, she should not have trusted her FRIEND, they should've still made sure they had the BUSINESS part in order. I get the legal stuff is one thing, and not saying Cleo didn’t make mistakes and bad decisions, but going out to eat with a group of people and sitting in someone’s face you know is hungry and acting like they are just a big back is crazy and vengeful. If anything I feel like people are downplaying Ice’s behavior and the way she responded in the text and the room shows the kind of immature person she is. One thing I don’t fully buy is Cleo texting everything, I feel like it was something specific outside the story that happened that made her run from that bus and Ice.

I think Ice invited her and claimed to accommodate her but when it came down to it she showed her true colors. Even if she a new artist leaving someone purse behind who you know is on tour is insane. Her staff needed to be reprimanded also them secretly planning things and not inviting her at all was odd. But Cleo as adult should have made sure Ice would have to keep her words by getting a contract in order. But overall ice is being dragged imo because people are tired of her tired of her music. Ice was weird. Cleo was irresponsible. But i think the hate comes down to her using black women as her accessories for her image and behind close doors behaving like she above them. Like she had with Nicki and on top of all that she had been getting called out for months since her album drop for being astronomically mid as a artist.
