Ice T is in my opinion one of the most genuine, knowledgeable and talented rappers to grace the game. There was nothing manufactured or contrived about his talent. If there will ever be a Mount Rushmore of rappers Ice should be there.

@@supergristmill6195 Tupac and Biggie weren't gangsta rappers, they primarily made songs about money and women mixed with some street tales. Pure gangsta rappers are guys like Spice 1 and Ice Cube who didn't make songs about money or women, just street life.

Ice was a player/hustler what ever made money he was into it. I know one of the dudes that designed one of Ice-T record covers. And my homeboy used to go to Barber shop on Near western n Vaness called “Good Fred’s” where he used to get his perm done. Plus we used to go to “Radio-tron” n see him n he used to breakdance a bit 1983-84 documentary “Breakin n Enterin” 1983 on KZbin (Topper Carew)same dude that produced the show “Martin” made it! Which became the movie “ Breakin”also he performed at Dorsey high school when his first album came out. 1987 Also was there when they spray painted the “Rhyme pays” character on the Crenshaw wall 1987. I grew up with it as well. NWA in 1986 was my first exposure. The time period you describe was great. I lost interest sometime in the early 90s because it began to feel like there was no new material just recycled stuff. I still feel that way. But 86 to early to mid 90s was fun. There are still gems here and there, of course, regardless of what year it is.

I get where T is coming from. I never even met Pac and I look back at certain choices he made in his life and as an adult now, I find myself mad at him too. Pac had so much potential beyond rap or street culture. He could have been successful and impactful in any lane he chose to go into, whether rap, acting, activism, being a voice for not just the community but his generation etc. Dude was blessed with that level of talent and charismatic ability. He just lacked guidance on a fatherly level. Pac even admitted in interviews that him lacking a FATHER impacted his direction in life.

You definitely speak the truth!! When Tupac was at his lowest, Suge Knight came along and bailed him out of jail and took him under his wing and Pac appreciated that, because he was paranoid as hell and didn't know who to trust. I know there are stories floating around that Suge had something to do with Tupac's death, but I totally don't believe that!! I do believe that Suge cared about Pac (as much as Suge could really care about anybody, lol). Finally, someone speaking the truth about 2Pac, rather than holding him up to this infallible, God-like status. He's right. Pac wasn't no gangster. He was a rapper/actor, and probably the only rapper who could legitimately act too, trying to walk in the shoes of a world he had no business in. Sad part about it is his actions indirectly resulted in the loss of another great rapper, who actually understood very well there's a big difference between rapping about gang life and living gang life.

Pac faked his death. No autopsy report. No doctor or nurse has ever shown up to testify that they attended to Tupac while in hospital.Who cremated him? Are there records at that crematorium to prove PACs body was brought there? Why the rush to cremate him so fast without a funeral?
