An early attempt to get to Iceberg Lake in Glacier National Park on 5/11/24. The trail was clear for about a mile and then snow covered. Crossed 4 avalanche runouts on steep terrain. Ran into the 5th avalanche runout about a mile short of the lake and turned back to the trailhead due to safety concerns. We could hear and see other avalanches on the surrounding mountains and it was a warm day above 70 degrees. A great bluebird day in the Many Glacier area of Glacier National Park.

Thank you so much for showing everyone what it is like this early in the season. My family and I (live in TX) will be hiking the same trail one month from now. Love watching your videos and explaining in detail how the trails are as you are hiking them. Keep it up!

Well our hike makes more sense now. We did this hike on June 10th, 2024 and it was extremely difficult with the snow. I fell through the snow into the lake! Then on the way down, we got off the trail and had to practically dig our way up a ravine to get back on it. Beautiful though!

We knew it had snow when we went. Just wanted to see how far we could get. Went back again on July 4th. Cheers.

Oh geez, yeah we were in a similar situation on this one it sounds like 👍 It was a beautiful day and super cool to see Iceberg trail covered in snow. We were thankful to have made it as far as we did, and our decision to cut it short was perfect timing. Glacier is special, and we thoroughly enjoy exploring its landscapes in as many seasons/conditions as possible. Sounds like you guys had a memorable experience as well ⛰ Thank you, here's to enjoying the wilderness.

That is my fav trail, along with Grinell Glacier trail and Highline trail. I've always wanted to do it with snow on the ground but we usually there in summer when its gone. Please consider going back out there asap when ya think you can get to the lake itself I'd love to see it, via your video, as most people never get a chance to be out there during snow times, and also run the risk of it being closed for bear activity. Thanks again

We have two other videos of that hike on our channel. One in the summer and one in the late fall. It looks so different every time we go. Enjoy the wilderness!

We were in awe of the number of intermittent streams and waterfalls due to the melt; Iceberg Lake trail like like we had never seen it, covered in snow and a brilliant blue sky. The views, as always in Glacier, made every step worth it 🏔 Thank you! We greatly appreciate your thoughts/comment!

I love GNP so I’m always happy to see when you guys post a new video. Thanks for bringing Montana and GNP to all of us who live far away. You guys are great! BTW, has the area received a normal amount of snow this past winter? Seemed kind of low to me.
