14:52 probably a limitation of the power supply. Increase amperage and re-run, I had a similar issue with an N305 box from Beelink. They sent a paltry 3a power supply when it ideally needs 5a. I’m guessing that’s a 6-7a and should be about 10a

I got a SER6 PRO with the 7735HS and it's almost the same rig. I see it's not longer listed for sale on Amazon. It lives in my toolbox hutch at work for all the online and HTML service manuals. Handles it in the cold and the heat mounted to the back of a monitor stuck in a metal box more or less. Did drill holes in a side to extend the wireless antennas to the top of my box. Now if I need to my wireless ear buds work to just outside the shop door.

Does the Intel solutions fare better in transitions and editing than these AMD APUs? I know you said the export time was worse, but what about regular play, transitions, effects etc? Outside of potential throttling of course.

Slightly worse in regular playback, but not horribly so. Effects and transitions are just as bad. though tbf I'm probably being a bit over critical. With the right workflow and some proxies, I'm sure you can make any of these work well.

6900HX/7935HX is still a decent chip, though being first gen, the DDR5 memory controller is a bit lacking, the best i can get out of it is about 6600, where as i can get 8000 out of Zen4(others apparently able to get over 10,000), this is also partially do to 6900/7x35 being on 7nm+++ as opposed to Zen4 being 5nm+

I come from the days when people were Seriously arguing 30fps was enough . I played most games on 30-ish fps, not by choice but because that's what my rig could do without potato quality graphics. And I had a blast playing them. It wasn't nearly the most fluid or natural experience, but such were the times for people without wads of cash. I always resented reviewers who could not only afford high-end gear for the price of my barely medium build (in my region) but would actively badmouth anything below that on their market. Hell it was even worse when they didn't even acknowledge my build as entry level as the years went on and I could still play those games just fine. It was a breath of fresh air to see a reviewer showing older gear. And now that I can afford to have a good rig I get to have the joy of seeing a mini-PC destroy my old rig in anything but GPU and even then only because of power limitations. To get acceptable framerates all around in modern games and then the reviewer complains about 75fps being too low for their preference (on that game). My monitor caps at 59fps. Getting a new one is a major expense. I get it, I really do, hell, I have a system very similar to their main one, with an inferior GPU. But damn if it doesn't feel bad.

I wonder when will there be Intel Ultra SOC, especially the one with full iGPU config. Heard the CPU performance is meh, but a huge jump in terms of integrated graphics performance. Besides, AMD integrated graphics definitely need some spanking just like Intel did on CPU performance.
@Daniel-ul8kr10 ай бұрын
It's still slower than the 780M, with more cores, consuming more power and having all the driver issues of Arc. That being said it's a huge jump over UHD graphics as it can actually run triple A games even if not very well.

There is not any malware found on my SER6, but the issue with installation of e.g. LibreOffice ending in error 2503 plus the fact that on my SER6 the virtual RAM was disabled by the pre-installed Windows 11 Pro build convinced me that it is best practice always to re-install the OS from scratch. I had ordered the even cheaper version with 16 GB RAM and the lack of enabled VRAM was noticed quite sooner than later. These pre-installed builds cannot be trusted. On the positive side, the installed Crucial P3 Plus 500 GB SSD with PCIe 4.0 was very fast and I saw over 5000 MB/s in the CrystalDiskMark for reading sequential and over 4000 MB/s with sequential writes. It is very good that Beelink is using Crucial RAM and SSDs. Plus fan noise is not an issue if surfing the internet or when typing e-mail replies.

Not too bad. There have also been a few 5000 series mini PC's in recent months too. I don't mind plastic as long as the cooling is sufficient, or the larger footprint. But the fact that it is an older generation, I would expect more competitive pricing, so I think that the voucher pricing needs to be the standard in order for this to likely have wider appeal. Add the closing comments regarding the 7000 series option and it does seem rather less desirable.

Ryzen 8000 APU's so far seem like duds. The Zen 3+ stuff is still pretty fast, and the 7000 series stuff seems pretty good, but the 8000 APU's are probably worth skipping as the long-awaited Strix Point, Strix Halo APU's that are supposed to be upcoming in the next year. That is to say, the Ryzen 6000 or 7000 series APU's are actually quite good value and they are coming down in price.

I'm about 90% certain that isn't "6th" gen Ryzen. It's 3rd gen, 4000 series wasn't a generation, it was 2rd gen ( Zen 2 ) released with a different name because it was made a different year. Which also made all of the mobile series chips lag behind 1 "series". Both Ryzen 5000 series desktop and Ryzen 6000 mobile are Zen 3 (3rd gen Ryzen)
@dex63169 ай бұрын
There is a difference between Ryzen a series and Zen a microarchitecture. This isn’t Zen 3, but Zen 3+ which does have micro architectural enhancements over the original Zen 3.
