Taishen is, hands down, my favorite character in this Campaign. He doesn't dominate conversations, but whenever he chimes in, I'm almost guaranteed a laugh. Mace has done a fantastic job at portraying this loveable goof with a wisened soul. Even the lines that should sound really meta just feel so natural coming from Taishen 10/10 character

Two things: Could the etching of the elf possibly belong to the dead elf in the cabin in the woods? The cabin was outfitted and stocked for more than one denizen Also, I agree with Mikey’s opinion that Dead Man’s Chest has one of the finest scores in modern film. I wonder if we will see Barnabos walk the same path as Davy Jones

The story is great, the characters are so well rounded and interesting (despite how friggin annoyed I was at the ogres in the beginning I now feel deep empathy for them and Daisy is BADASS!!) and the battles are epic! Have you ever seen those videos of Army Ranger training where they learn how to pick up an injured or unconcious soldier while under fire? The dive roll is kind of what I pictured Barnabos do to Queenie, except since she's smaller than him I pictured more of a hug and roll than the scoop onto the shoulders the Rangers do (obviously a man carrying a similar size man is a bit different than a Tritan scooping up a Rabbit Folk.

As much as I'd love it to be weekly I don't think the amount of preparation that this campaign needs would fit into only a week. So me and probably others would rather have very high quality monthly sessions than mid weekly sessions. Also noone wants Derek to burnout

Man, I've been absolutely loving this campaign ever since I've started watching this. The combat got a tiny bit wonky a couple of times, as Mikey had stated their rage had dropped after they had gotten grappled by the mind flayer, but had adantage when rolling the athletics to escape since they apparently were still raging actually? Richie had gotten grapppled twice by mind flayers, but the first time it was forgotten and they just walked away. The second it had gotten mixed up that the frog was grappling it instead, so the mind flayer grappled them whrn they should have already been grappled. Couple of mishaps, but overall astonishing to watch

Derrick is so correct, 'end of the turn' save is bullshit. Because, if you make the save and now the cool thing you wanted to do w/ your turn if you save can't happen, and if the enemy has another ability/spell use in the bank, you can be put back under the condition again before it gets back to your turn! It's brutal and joyless mechanic

I really love the setting for this campaign, the hardcore survival really appeals to me. However theres one thing that kills the vibe in battle for me and its the Twists of Fate. I understand its a feature they implemented to allow chat to engage more actively in the episodes but them rolling at like triple advantage on just about every single roll they fail kinds of defeat the hardcore purpose more than a weeee bit.

No he just have basic empathy. Only difference between mind flayers and other humanoids is that mind flayers feed on humanoids and use them for reproduction, they are no more evil than predators are evil.

Politely disagree, mindflayers are extremely intelligent and known to use that intelligence in cruel and horrifying ways. It's also canon that the souls of those who are turned are destroyed and the gods themselves hate them for it. They're far far worse than simple predators. Taishen is sympathetic because he's a very kind and empathetic man who comes from an extremely sheltered background. He has very little concept of evil, so leans towards assuming the best of things.

Put any human in their place and they won't act any different, in fact we can see in our world that humans are ready to do anything to other animals they prey upon if it will help them survive even a little bit, it's just natural. Don't get me wrong, they are certainly capable of evil like any sentient creature is, my point is that they aren't evil because they prey on sentient species.
