IceFishing Whitefish/Laketrout in Clear Water- Aqua Vu VS. Panoptix

Well i put it to the test!!! dropped the aqua Vu camera down during primetime from 8am-11:30 and couldnt get a sniff from any fish. Some would come into the zone and look like they wanted to eat but they still wouldnt fully commit to eating. To put this theory to test i then lifted the camera and went back to panoptix, and sure enough within 2 hours i was able to ice 3 fish during slow periods of the day being the afternoon. If you are new to icefishing whitefish or laketrout, dont make this mistake, learn how to feel the bite and believe me you will catch alot more fish. Although it is AWESOME to see them swimming around your bait and interact with it live, it will hinder chances of catching fish in super clear water like lake simcoe. If you live in dirtier conditions im sure the camera will be awesome to use, however in this case it was working against me. We will do another review like this later in the season but for the most part, Panoptix took the win on this one.

Nice video Joey, now I have to convince my wife the reason she hasn't been able to catch a whitefish is because of the camera haha. Also were you setup on top of a pressure crack there it looks like? I'd be crapping my pants!

I mean it could be very much do a reason because when I use it I notice my numbers go down drastically!! But yes I was on an area that seemed to look like a crack but it was just solid black ice

Used my camera yesterday and they bumped the camera and ended up hooking up with one fish . Today saw the same amount of fish but today they wouldn't commit, mayby the current moving the cord to the camera who knows. Great video as always, may we will try and just point the camera straight down below the ice .

Lol was waiting on this!! But the main ideaaaaa was that sonar in general will catch you more fish!! And it wasn’t 4500 I use a panoptic PS22 transducer NOT LIVESCOPE that I bought for 300$ on kijiji, 600$ graph and battery 200$ whole combo $1100 pieced together!! 🤘🙌 still pricy but I’d rather slap another $400 on top of a high end flasher and get panoptix instead!! 😎

The aqua view 715c is all right tried keeping it down to fish with but saw nothing. Put the sonar in and started to mark fish I find it’s better just to see the bottom composition then start fishing

Conditions will vary when using cameras without a doubt, on this particular day the sonar worked at way more advantage, ill have to keep doing it throughout the year to truly see how it works, without a doubt its great to see bottom composition though

Hey brother, just wondering what knot you use to keep the meegs in a vertical position. I am always adjusting the position of my knot, it slips all often. Tight lines and thanks for the awesome vids!

I tie a Palomar knot and then I pull it all the way back and I add a dab of Krazy Glue on the knot and it doesn’t move at all🤘Hope this helps bud!!

Hmmm, not sure if maybe they just weren’t on the bite when camera was down and when you got hits the camera didn’t go back down , I get the gut feeling but more research is needed .Don’t forget to get a government grant! Keep it coming!
