Myself and my boyfriend just returned from Iceland Wednesday and done all three of the recommended tours, including starting off with the Northern Lights on our first night and got to see them. Followed by the South Island tour and finished with the Golden Circle and Blue Lagoon. Our tour guides were amazing and have so much information and history. We stayed a bit further out the city in the Grand Hotel Reykjavik which suited us. Such a beautiful island, we’d love to come back for another visit again!

I just returned from Iceland two weeks ago!! Such an awesome experience!! I was not able to see the Northern Lights as it was too cloudy- but went to the Perlan and saw the Northern Lights show, among other things- what a nice interactive museum. Also, I should have booked the Blue lagoon prior to my arrival- no openings- but went to the Sky Lagoon and it was beautiful!! I have so much to still see- so will definitely return!!

Great info. We were there Dec 2021 during Winter Solstice and had a great time. Coming back this December. Flights and lodging booked. Head’s up, thought for the arrival day. Our flight from DC arrives at 6:30am so be ready to be tired that morning, especially for the drive in the dark from airport to Reykjavik. Be careful and ready. And, be ready to have to kill a few hours before being able to check in to lodging. Some good walking tours are great for that first day until you can check in.

I love the winter do you think January is still a good time to come or risky for weather?
@WakeUpReykjavik.2 жыл бұрын
Hey Marcia! Dan here :) Great question! It's soo hard to predict how this January will be as it varies from year to year. January 2022 was one of the stormiest months I've ever experienced. A lot of snow and rain. This winter, so far (October / November) has been quite good in regards to weather; relatively warm and little rain in comparison to previous years. So the January ahead might very well be a lot different than January 2022 ✌🏻🇮🇸

Hi Dan, I clicked the link provided on the video and saw that you also offer northern lights cruise. Which one would you recommend the cruise or land tour? Also, My partner and I will be there on Nov 25 - 28 and we're thinking of renting a car. We only plan to travel to KEF - Reykjavik - Blue Lagoon - KEF. Do you think a small car such as toyota aygo is okay? Thanks
@WakeUpReykjavik.2 жыл бұрын
Heeey! Dan here :) Thanks for your comment. Awesome to hear that your coming to Iceland this November. Super exciting! Your game plan sounds great (KEF - Reykjavik - Blue Lagoon - KEF). In regards to the tours, both are really great! The chances of seeing the lights are similar. So it mostly depends on which you are more excited for (driving vs boat). Pro's and con's to both I guess, sailing in a boat is always fun but there are less people on the land tour. But I have no doubt you'll enjoy whichever tour you end up choosing :) In regards to the car, I think it should definitely be fine since it most likely won't have started to snow when you're here. I've driven this route multiple times during winter in a Toyota Yaris without much issue. It's a short drive (40 minutes) on a road that's well lit up. So if you follow the speed limit and drive carefully (roads can sometimes be a little icy) then it shouldn't be a problem! I hope you'll have a great time my friend :)

What a lovely video. Cheers! Should we be nervous about driving a car ourselves on the main roads during February? We're planning on renting a 4x4 ala the Dacia Duster
@WakeUpReykjavik. Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words Jacob! That's a great question. The Dacia Duster isn't a powerful vehicle, but it works surprisingly well in the snow. I friend of mine drove to Akureyri from Reykjavik (5 hours) in heavy snow just a couple of weeks ago without any problems. It all depends, have you driven in snow before? At the moment, the weather is quite nice and it would be no problem to drive around outside of Reykjavik. We had some heavy snow a couple of weeks ago where even I, having lived here my entire life, would have been a bit nervous. So it's a little tricky to predict since we'll have to see what the weather will be like in February. I'm not sure if I was able to fully give you the answer that you were looking for but I hope this helps haha!

Great video! I have one question. We are planning on using the bus to town from the airport, but we’re hoping to go to the blue lagoon first as we want to go to the sky lagoon on our way back to the states before our flight home. Is there options for that with the buses? We are already reserved for the food tour at noon on the 3rd of November and are so excited! Thank you for all the wonderful information!

Heeey Channing! Dan here :) Thanks for your question my friend. We can't wait to see you on our foodie tour. Super exciting!! Regarding your question; YES, it's possible to take a bus transfer from Keflavík to Blue Lagoon, and then from Blue Lagoon to Reykjavik. I'll link to it here my friend and I hope it comes in handy; destinationbluelagoon.is/transport Let me know if there is anything else that I can help you with Channing!

Hey there guys, greetings from Los Angeles! Considering some of your tours, but was curious is there anything slightly different from these tips if traveling in Mid October? Particularly clothing and tips on keeping legs and feet warm?

Question. I have already visited in summer. I would like to see the other facet of Iceland, when snow changes landscape. Will I enjoy snowish landscapes if I visit in mid-december, a week or so before Christmas ?

Hey, thanks for the video. We are coming to Iceland next week, i.e. beginning of March. Would you recommend this time for whale watching?

Important tips buddy. I was wondering if remote campsites would accept Visa credit cards or not! Can you throw some light?

Hi Daniel, we are planning a trip to Iceland in the Autumn 23/09- 8/10. What could you recommend? Of course, it already includes the Food Walk with you. Thank you. Best Regards, Dmitry

Is the end of March a good month to visit Iceland and to see the northern lights? Thank you for the video!
@WakeUpReykjavik. Жыл бұрын
Hey there Helena! We have a better video about the Northern Lights on our site that you can see HERE kzbin.info/www/bejne/onack4GchdR1jKs In March the lights can be visible but then also the days are getting brighter, there are just soo many factors so it is hard to say for sure. But definitely doable!
