The time, money, and planning involved to make a video like this, with these quality... If you’re reading this and have not liked and subscribed, this is your second chance.

Gorgeous pics, thanks for sharing. My daughter and I are heading to Iceland for two weeks in September and one week for October in 2025. Dissapointing to see all the restrictions being imposed, so hopefully there will nit be too many more between now and next year imposed. I am glad we are renting a 4wd camper so we can get away from the more popular spots.

Very nice video. And yes, the situation has changed a lot, especially in the last 5 years. Many things are very restricted, the car parks have become bigger, the number of tourists has increased. I avoid South Iceland, but it was never my favourite region anyway. There are other places in this country where you can be alone and move around freely.

Of course there are! For a first time trip people will mainly see the south and I can see why. Looking forward to going back and exploring further.

I absolutely loved this video. Very different from most in Iceland, and as good as anything I've seen recently. Thank you

Loved the photos! I'll be going next month, did you have any problems in the airport with the tripod? I read of people getting it confiscated and we are not traveling with checked baggage, I'd hate to loose my carbon fiber tripod.

No problems coming from Canada but I do always travel with my tripod inside my carry on bag rather than hanging off the side. I feel that helps some times!

Incredible part of the world. Lucky you to have been there. Still on my bucket list. Which lenses did you find most useful?

I probably mainly shot on my 16 to 35 with a fair few images also on my 70 to 200. There were a few times where I wished I just had a 24 to 70 though as I think that would have covered most bases. An amazing country though!

We actually saw part of the eruption from the plane but the eruption near Grindavik is very closed off so you can't get close.

Hey! I'm planning a photography trip to Iceland with a friend, so this is exactly what I needed. Thanks for taking the time to put all this together. Amazing vid. One question, what time of the year did you go there? We're thinking around March to have a chance to still see the northern lights... but we fear the weather might be too harsh to go to certain places... any thoughts?

Hey Martin, appreciate you watching. We were there at the start of June and there was an unusual winter storm that came through and shut parts of the ring road. March will be a great time for some photography on the south coast. You won't really be able to get inland as easily and the highlands areas don't open until mid June at the earliest really. In March I'd be prepared with a plan B in case weather does close roads. Part of the ring road goes though mountain passes so those can get snowed in. Just give yourself an extra day or two so you can wait things out or change plans a little! Hope that helps! I'd love to go back in winter!
