Nice Video and very clean race! That was me with the Bell at the beginning. I got swallowed up by a bad line in that sand at 6 minutes in and never saw you again. I had a few other mistakes as well.

Well done! Riding it for the first time in 2022. Any suggestions for navigating through slower riders due to a poor wave placement?

Maybe get a bell on your bike? Just communicate well and be aggressive! Take your pass when you can get it but sometimes just be patient like in the single track stuff.

The trail seems smooth and fast and hardly like a mountain bike trail. I’m surprised that I didn’t see a single gravel bike in your video. It seems like a drop bar bike with 50mm tires would be really fast in this route. What are you’re thoughts in this?

I think I passed a couple 🤔 Definitely was possible to role with a gravel bike. Though the many sandpits would have been a little more difficult! I myself don’t have the luxury of having that option so it’s mtb all day every day 😁. I believe some of the top pro finishers had something like what you mentioned though! Definitely just depends on what you are comfortable with!

Geoff Kabush won this race on a drop bar bike in 2018. I think in 2021 one rider in the top 5 was on a drop bar. For amateur riders it’s definitely a mountain bike race with some pretty fast downhills and steep climbs.

@@bdykstra02 I didn’t think the battery would last that long. What settings do you use to get such long battery life? And wow- GREAT ride!

I have an external battery connected to it for these longer rides! The battery itself only lasts an hour maybe.
