Rest in Peace Marvelous Marvin Hagler. He was a tactical master who fought with a controlled rage. His mental toughness exceeded that of other boxers who themselves had some of the most incredibly tough mindsets you'd ever find in an athlete. From his extraordinarily iron chin to proficiency in two stances and his incredible stamina, if you add his uncanny determination and two-fisted assault, he was a nightmare for anyone who had the misfortune of facing him. He stepped in to the ring with one of the most devastating punchers of all time in Tommy Hearns and walked through every single bomb thrown at him without even flinching until he wore Hearns down and put him on his back. Hagler was never even knocked down in 67 fights sans a slip in one match which was mistakenly ruled a knockdown by a ref. His brutal battle with John "The Beast" Mugabi, a ferocious power puncher, defied logic for the amount of punishment a man can take without even showing an inkling of discouragement or disrupted determination. Marvin Hagler was a fighter's fighter, a man's man and the epitome of all the attributes a supreme warrior should possess. He stopped at nothing to achieve victory and his borderline superhuman abilities and achievements will echo in boxing lore forever. Marvelous Marvin Hagler, your body may have expired but your legend never will. Rest in Peace to the greatest middleweight of all time.

Hagler will, and always be among the greatest middleweights of ALL TIME and will forever be among boxing's all-time greats. When you hear the great middleweight legends like Robinson, Greb, LaMotta, Ketchel, Burley, Monzon, you will always hear Hagler's name among them legends. Us fans will always appreciate the excitement and discipline that he brought to the sport, inspiring thousands of young boxers to take the sport. Hagler was a class act both in and out of the ring. One of those fighters you can never beat, only win
@N0Time4 жыл бұрын
Exactly. If someone could possibly win the first game, Hagler would have demolished him in the second. That's why Leonard refused a rematch against Hagler, and why Hagler ended his career after that decision. Willie Monroe and Bobby Watts defeated Hagler but were nuked in the rematch. Nevertheless, they had the courage to accept a return match. Leonard, on the other hand, knew exactly what to expect in a rematch. You can escape Hagler once, but not twice. Hagler is a warrior who never refuses to fight like Rocky Marciano or Edwin Valero. Sam Langford and Ray Robinson may be his superior, considering the record of achievements, the changes in categories and the fact that they never sneaked out against the best of their time, but it's not easy to find other boxers to compare him to.

I'm from the Caribbean and I remember when I was just getting into boxing training for the first couple days with my coach from New York. One day after training I asked him if he had a favorite boxer right away he responded with "yes Thomas hearns! And Marvin Hagler" he would constantly brag about meeting Hagler in Prison and say that's where Hagler learned to fight. He also mentioned Hagler was one of the scariest guys around in there and he would never miss one of his prison brawls. I still remember looking up the Hagler Hearns war as a kid and that fight was fucking insane! Even the press conference was dope the way they stared down and when he told a corner man I believe "whatever happens don't stop this fight I'm willing to die in the ring" still gives me chills when I think about it. I was distraught when I learned he had passed I couldn't believe it. One of my absolute favorites of all time and indeed the greatest middle weight of all time! R.I.P to the real God of War 💯
