No matter how many times I play IWD the sound design seems better and more beautiful than the last time I played.

I find that's generally true as well. It's such a great soundtrack as well.

For thieves, the IWD PREGEN works really well, because it makes them Search for traps automatically outside of combat. Probably the most useful script/character combo that Ive found. The second most useful is the Ranged script for pure mages. It will make them not rush and not waste any spells, while still attacking with their missile weapons. Ordering spells is one of the most enjoyable things to do in combat anyway, and because of the d&d spell system you want to make the most out of each cast. I would like to use scripts for my fighters, but in IWD there are so much dungeon crawling which mostly leads to them rushing into traps when charging. Even if I put them on the Passive script they will still rush ahead when shot at. Ive also tried to equip them with secondary ranged weapons and setting them to Ranged script, but they never switch back to melee when engaging in close combat properly, and sometimes they will try to keep the distance. I would like a script that makes them stand their ground, using ranged on enemy sight, and switching to melee when engaged in close combat. Sounds simple, but there is no script that does this properly. So, none (or possibly Passive) is the way to go for warriors, imo. Im also using shaman and the IWD PREGEN doesnt work with their dance ability. Their auto attack will interrupt the dance. So, none for Shamans.

Honestly, I usually set all the pause triggers and micromanage the combat. Every time I've tried running with scripts it's been a total sh*tshow. 😆 The script you mentioned as the best default for EE seemed to work quite well in general, but I think I ended up turning that one off on certain characters as well.

Micro management is the best if you can't be bothered, but I honestly haven't had any issues using scripts. HOWEVER, I have never played them on any of the insane difficulties.
