Thank you for interviewing the guys doing the various jobs on your site. It's really helpful and educational to hear from the "experts" how things go, why they go, what the plan is, etc. The guy was very sweet and shy but once he started in on the knowledge and ignored the camera, he proved his expertise I feel. Sounds like you did an awesome job picking the people to work with you on this so far!

I like the look of that roof, and nifty how it all attaches together. Having a no-proration warranty is HUGE, and a testament to how well they figure the roof will hold up. Made in America is why.

Thanks for the video. Getting close to a new roof and this looks like a great option. The website says, in a lot of cases, this can go over existing roof since it is so light. Save money on installation, and disposal of old roof. But biggest benefit is the longevity of the roof, especially in Florida.

Yep this would be a great option for that scenario. 👍🏻

when we replaced our roof and siding with steel. we went with a product from EDCO made in Minnesota. we used the arrow line slate style.(charcoal grey blend 2 tone ) 50 year warranty class 4 hail and 160 mph winds. not only do we get a insurance discount but wont have to replace most likely ever. between asphalt and steel was about 6000 difference appox 20k, cannot hear a difference in rain, small hail slightly louder but nothing really worth noting, snow will slide off like crazy at about 34 degrees. looks extremely similar to this product.from tear off removing vents and adding ridge vents underlayment and metal was a week for 2500 sq feet shaped as a T. id say you made a great choice!

I think you all are pretty awesome! Have been following you for a couple of years. You definitely send good things around. Karma is one of the laws of life. When I listen to you two respond to some of your listener's questions, I gain more respect for you each time because you have patience for people who have the gall to ask some of the things they do. Being Native and growing up watching my grandparents render lard, dry corn, canning, grinding flour, grinding meats and living the life people are now labeling as 'off-grid' or 'survivalistic', I have learned from you. You are good souls. Don't worry about what other people perceive. Be true to who you are. Love the videos!!! Thank you so much for sharing your life!!

Forget Netflix! Wow what a story. Without giving to much away, I am overseas at work and unable to travel back to the US due to the virus; and to be honest where I am at it is secure and somewhat safe, so I'm good, just ready to get back. I've had a few days off and was looking for some entertainment on KZbin and I am so very glad I found your channel! First let me say your family is amazing on what you are doing, I respect your decisions and since I share many of your views I find your perseverance fantastic. The ICF is brilliant on so many different levels and I am VERY happy I found your posts!! I actually found your channel while looking at some canning ideas, but now I'm hooked on the build. From the first problem with the water system to the roof selections you have made great choices. Your channel shows both the high & lows of leading a self sustaining lifestyle and I thank you for your honesty and transparency. The choice to get back on the grid was a complete no brainer. Live on grid but have the measures to be off-grid if the situation arises. Pastor Joe Fox on Viking Preparedness is living that lifestyle and shares many of your ideas. Lastly let me just say that I am so encouraged by your ability to stay on point as the challenges come and I hope the best for all of you. P.S. digging the clothing options and will be certainly finding a way to support your channel once I get back home.

Great looking roof and a lifetime warranty !!!!!
@usernameisusername4 жыл бұрын
Lol. Lifetime. It's only warrantied against manufacturing defects for the life of the roof. Each year that goes by increases the pro rated deduction. It's only material as well. If you turn in a warranty at 10 years they can always say that it's at the end of its life. If they do agree to cover it will only be pennies on the dollar. Most if the time they deny the warranty due to installation defects. Don't be a rube.
@stan31984 жыл бұрын
Jeremy said lifetime on materials and labor !!!
@Guildbrookfarm4 жыл бұрын
It’s a lifetime warranty on both materials and labor. Not pro rated for the original owner. And the warranty is transferable for 40 years.

Very attractive roof system. After our house fire a few years back and the complete renovation, including a new roof and a completely rebuilt wraparound porch roof, we were picking up nails and screws around the house for years, still find one now and then. One of those handheld magnet sweeper things is invaluable, but I bet you already have one. Nails and other pieces of metal just go everywhere. When that is completely dried in, I bet I'll hear the sigh of relief all the way to my place! Take care, guys. ~Cynthia
@Guildbrookfarm4 жыл бұрын
Yeah each day after a crew leaves I spend an hour with the magnet. I’ve picked up two 5 gallon buckets full of screws, nails and metal.
@rootsrocksfeathers19754 жыл бұрын
Those magnets are the best things ever! I knew you were on it, knowing you guys. Winds are insane around here lately, blew shingles off one of our outbuildings night before last. I wish we'd had the money when they did the new roof on our house to put on one like you just did, but we had to go with architectural asphalt shingles and pay extra out of our own pocket for even those since the originals were basic ones. That roof is a great investment, living up high like you do and knowing how the winds can be at your elevation. Good decision. 👍

I was a roofer up in New England for a long time and never came across this product. Looks interesting. For my money slate and copper roof system is the way to go. Much easier to repair. Putting up a slate roof is becoming a lost art in this country.
