Ya on liners we use the aluminum bullnose when we can get it so it’s entrained in the coping and doesn’t try to pull the foam down, if we use a Cantilever form Like stegmeyer, we cut the inside form down like 4” and let concrete come out all the way to the face of the icf, giving it a sturdy place to set the liner track

Great vid. Thanks for putting together. How long would a liner like this last in an indoor pool application?
@Cake415796 ай бұрын
It’ll last right up until the time that it doesn’t. It all depends on how the pool is taken care of and whether you “condition” the liner each year after drain down for cleaning or maintenance. A good conditioner we use is similar to a wax that’s used on vinyl wrap. It helps restore the flexible properties to the liner that’s so crucial to its ability to remain in use.

Any reason you got an Eaytouch 8? That Superflo runs off constant power and is automated with a digital input cable, so the only thing running off of a relay is the light leaving 7 relays open. How durable are these pools in regards to dogs? I was considering a fiberglass pool as gunite is rough in their joints and I am just concerned about them puncturing a liner.
@all3pools3 жыл бұрын
Ya dogs can damage a liner especially if the panic and try to climb out over a wall… but the thermoplastic stairs are bulletproof, similar to fiberglass, so if your dogs are swimming all the time and not scratching around on the walls it’s fine as the egress point is stout…. The real problem we’ve seen happens when animals that aren’t expecting to swim fall in the pool especially deer, they can easily jump most fences and fall in at night, and the ensuing panic can destroy a liner wall…. Rare but it does occur….

Can I put plaster or tile over an ICF pool?
@all3pools3 ай бұрын
Yes with the proper steps
@Paul-yy8vp3 жыл бұрын
how did you mount the skin , what other product can you use to avoid liner dents
@all3pools3 жыл бұрын
Liquid nails foam and tape, only has to hold until liner goes in, then pressure of water holds it from moving!

I didn’t see any rebar or bonding. Do you add rebar in your concrete?
@all3pools3 жыл бұрын
Yes, there is rebar in the thickened footers and it passed bonding inspection, then they do another one on wall rebar bonding, then another on decking within 5’ of the edge, passed all 3, I’ll try to show it in future vids, just try to keep vids reasonable length

Hi. I am curious if I might be able to connect with you on the vinyl sourcing and how you work create for a loner to work. I also have a few plumbing questions. Love the videos. Can I email you direct?

Would an 8 inch thick ICF be strong enough for a large semi inground pool in a cold climate? Pool size 10 ft by 40 ft and 5 or 6 ft deep.

Yes

I’ve never thought of energy saving potential for an ICF pool. How much would you say is saved vs a steel/vinyl liner pool when heating? Northern climate.
@all3pools3 жыл бұрын
I don’t have imperial data from personal pools I’ve built but hopefully after this winter I will…. The one we hooked up before last winter, which was ridiculously cold in mo, seemed like it was heating for about a third of a comparable Gunite…. But their gas was running their house and pool so hard to be sure, but the entire bill was half of what a comparable Gunite pool was costing

@@all3pools The common method here is the steel structure with a vinyl liner. Outdoor pools aren't operational outside of mid-May to September. We have hot summers and cold winters.
@20vK3 жыл бұрын
You can save around 80% by insulating. 14x28 pools used to cost £200 and take 5 days to heat up, 20x40 pool cost £20 and heat up overnight.

How much in material for this pool? Love to do one some day.

We sell a kit for a pool just like that for about 19k, everything but pipe and concrete

Is it possible to build this myself and then pay someone to come do the eco-finish I’ve seen in some of your new videos?
@all3pools2 жыл бұрын
Down the road a bit…. To do eco the build details are going to be way more specific and important than liner pools!

Excellent job on your video! Are you using radius blocks in the corners? I prefer the look of 90 degree corners but am concerned about how the line will "suck up" in the corner of a 90.
@aeasthouse3163 жыл бұрын
I was concerned about this as well. Also the junction between the slab and wall is also square, this will make it hard to clean and won’t work with a robotic cleaner. So manual cleaning only? Not convinced.
@jasonhill60742 жыл бұрын
They use a thick vinyl slip in that is the same radius as the corner coping. Liner stretches right into it. Few different size radius for corners

Where do you order the liner and stairs? Is there options for custom sized liner? I did my house out of ICF and was planning on doing my pool. Thanks in advance . Great video.
@all3pools3 жыл бұрын
You can get thermoplastic liner stair inserts in several shapes and sizes from local suppliers or a website like sunplay.com... liners are usually custom ordered, many liner companies out there, we usually use Tara liners! We’ll keep the content coming!
