Now I know why this song represents Germany in Civ VI. Utterly speechless, beautiful and encapsulating, lovely!
@dazurathefirst84564 жыл бұрын
@Celtic Phoenix The Germans are a culture birthed in fire and war, industry and manufacturing. From the constant attacks on their borders by the Romans to the south, the nordic clans to the north, the slavic nations to the east, and the galls to the west, to the wars of the crusades in a distant land called upon by the them by their religious capital and the wars with the poles to the east, to the constant wars against the French to the west, to a fiery damnation to the rest of the world in two consecutive world wars. Yet even through all that, German has retained both it's name, culture, heritage, and it's industry and power. Through centuries of war and people burning their lands, sometimes through faults of their own aggression, they have remained a global power. I say this, to anyone who disrespects and hates European culture, look no further than Germany for an example of a nation rich, seeping with history and culture. May the Fatherland never falter in the face of overwhelming odds, and for those times when they do break and fall, may they always get back up and rebuild what once was in a greater fashion than ever before. Lang lebe Deutschland !

Dear German friends, I am a Korean and when I was a child, music text books in school contained several beautiful German folk songs such as Muss i denn, O Tannenbaum, Lorelei, Der Letzte Abend, Heiden roslein and others. I, my family members, and my friends would sing these German folk songs (lyrics were all translated into Korean) with much joy and sentiment. German folk song have their own unique beauty and dignity. They are simplistic but profoundly emotional, musical, and graceful. I find no folk songs in any country in the world are as beautiful as these German folk songs. They are literally gems and jewels in music world. I write this because I hope to see German people would keep the tradition of these folk songs and let them not be forgotten. Thank you.

@@crossbones5428 Don't be so melodramatic. The EU brought Europe together and created an era of peace. You sound like you think war is somehow integral to the European spirit. It isn't. The farmers in the fields the townspeople and their traditions, the hardworking and proud craftsmen who love their craft, that's the real European spirit and always has been. War and overzealous nationalism has only ever been harmful and it's a shame that people still romanticize it.
