@@dr.ludwig I know , that they still officially play this tune to this very day on the sad event of funeral services for German soldiers , firemen or police officers , that got killed in the line of duty ! But surely I would not be surprised , if our German Greenleftfascists would also try to stop this , as they have already rendered the German army , the Bundeswehr , into an army bare of military traditions and role models from our military history(which naturally consists of a far longer period of time than just 12 years). I think , that the KZbin censors don't really know what exactly they are doing , ....so thanks a lot for the re-upload , as this is one of the most famous German tunes with military background , ....if not THE most famous one !

Deutsches Volk, besucht eure gefallenen Soldaten. Es ist ein sehr intimer Moment

I feel that this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written to describe the less talked about horrors of war. My Grandfather was a Oberstleutnant in the (German) military on the Russian front from 1914 to 1918 and in his journal (which is one of my most prized possessions of all time, along with his music book full of sheet music which stopped a Russian Mosin-Nagant 7.62x54mmR round from blowing out his chest. Luckily it just destroyed his violin sheet music.) he describes singing along with his men this exact song during their long arduous march on foot home from Russia back to Austria. From his writings, this song was very important for the mental well being of his men and himself by giving them each a chance to remember and honor their fallen comrades in arms. My Grandfather also writes in his memoirs/war journal that his most emotionally painful memory was during the retreat from Eastern Europe back home, he and his men heard crunching all under their feet whenever they took a step forward for quite a very long distance. When my Grandfather looked under the frozen snow and ice below them, he realized that he and his unit of men had been (and would continue to do so) walking on the frozen dead and dismembered bodies of his fellow soldiers and civilians. Thank you Dr Ludwig for bringing this great and powerfully meaning song to the masses who listen to you as this was/is a very important and sacred song of the soldier at war.

And this was banned for "muh hate speech"... While it's a lied for losing your best comrade at the battlefield. And it's not a *"NATZEE"* song. It was literally written in 1809. But hey, it's hate Nazi speech, amirite? It literally confirms "You"Tube is lacking empathy for human nature. Especially nationalism and love for your brethren.

I married an American GI in the early 60's, and all those 15+ years he was stationed in Germany, he needed a special pass if we traveled anywhere away from the base, and the families had to go to briefings every six months to learn about the escape route to Le Havre, from where we would have been shipped to the US, in case of a Russian attack. The Americans were always counting on the possibility of a Russian invasion. Had this been the case, my late husband would have been ready to give his life for our German homeland, and when I think of what your comment implies, I feel really, really sick. I feel equally sick when I listen to gleeful comments from the younger generations, who are so gang-ho when the last remnants of the US Army departs. Don't they know how happy Putin would be to conquer the PLUM of the European continent?. I bet they don't feel that frivolous in the Baltic countries these days, knowing that Trump would not come to their aid.

@@lydiabell6218 Ma'am with all due respect your husband was part of an occupation force. The solution for this is to have Germany acquire nuclear weapons like France and the UK, but the US doesn't permit that. It is time for Germany to become an independent sovereign nation without any foreign troops on its soil.

Thus... this song. I have heard it only once, and that was at the funeral for my grandfather. He served in the German Empire and later in the British Empire. This was the first sing to play, followed by his favorite to sing, A Long Way From Tipperary. It’s a beautiful song that has no right to be censored. I hope one day KZbin can stop doing this, and Germany can realize it’s past beyond WW2.

As I learn more German songs, I am happy and grateful that there is a translation to these wonderful songs. The more I learn these songs, as a Hispanic, I've also realized that I am jealous of Germany. (I am usually not the jealous type too). The concept of the fatherland makes me proud of a country and peoples' whom I have little to no connection to. For some reason fills an empty part of my heart. I pray for Europe to return to its roots and senses

KZbin must remember, no matter how horrible things that Germany has done in the past are, not everything they did in the past was bad, the same goes for the German kingdoms before Germany's unification. This was made at a time when France attempted to crush German culture. But German culture still lives on. And we must keep this great example of German perseverance.

the Germans should be proud of the endurance of their troops and their willingness to perish for the country. Whatever the cruel crimes of the Nazis. But the Germans in full sight have been and will be strong warriors of great fighting, disciplining and enduring. Even so far, no one dares to move or annoy Germany. He knows that the Germans can answer from all the cannons. The German army is afraid and respected at the same time. Even the Russians understand that it is better to have Germany as a partner than as an enemy.
@Tatusiek_13 жыл бұрын
@@someonewhosupportukraine those evil crimes you speak of were done because Germany could not deport them to Madagascar(operation madagascar), or follow through with the Havaraa agreement by creating Israel thanks, to the British blockaid. If it wasn’t for the British it would have never happened. The Germans were low on food because of the constriction, so they didn’t really have much of a choice. The Soviet union is not so innocent nor is the UK. Holodomor and mass starvation in the Raj.
