Ichiban makes me feel younger, I´m nearly 30 and there is always this mentality of "I didn´t acomplish anything" but the guy is 46 and still look at life with the eyes of a newborn. There is still so much world to meet and things to do. And also to know yourself.

I actually liked the distance between Akane and Ichiban in this scene. They never got the chance to know each other. On Ichiban's part, the fact that Arakawa may be his birth father hasn't set in yet and now he is told to talk to his birth mother after 46 years of thinking that he is an orphan. But regardless, he told her that "My life is rough, there are a lot of ups and downs but now I am happy with where I am now. So, if you did give birth to me, I just want to say thank you." It is a very sincere and a very Ichiban thing to say.
