“Ichigo do you know why I hate the rain” is actually Zangetsu talking to Ichigo who rain represents his depression/trauma. Ichigo’s mother died in the rain, he fought grandfisher in the rain, and he was defeated by Byakuya and Rukia captured while it was raining. It’s a poetic metaphor for Ichigo’s dispair
