One thing i will forever be jealous of is how seriously Japan takes concert etiquette. Not a single peep through the entire performance. No random cheering "woos!" No movement. Just complete silence and respect the entire time until its clear she is finished, and then they applaud. Why can't it be like that in the US?

Is not only in US. . .😢

My friend saw her live in the US , in the videos he showed me the crowd was silent like this
@jordanh95017 ай бұрын
@@ThunderHOWL16 That makes me really happy to hear. I've just had so many bad experiences with shows where you would think people would be quiet (not talking noise rock or hyped up hip-hop shows) but like FKA Twigs, which was an incredibly intimate and soft performance, and it sounded like a GD school cafeteria in the background. I was floored at how unbelievably rude people could be in our country. Especially because I saw a video of the same show in France and it was dead silent. But I guess it really depends on the artist, the setting, the city, the venue ,whether it's also largely a bar...all of those factors matter.
@jordanh95017 ай бұрын
I'll also add it makes me afraid to see certain artists play here, ESPECIALLY if they're an opener. Grouper is my favorite musician of all time but I don't know that I would see her just anywhere on because I'm afraid of what I'll do if people behave the way I'm used to, at one of her shows. 😅

I have been to three of her live performances in Japan, and the atmosphere is as if she is quietly swaying in the deep sea or a deep forest. Maybe there are many quiet people in the audience. I think this happens naturally if both artists and fans want to respect each other. Do people in other countries shout even at the live shows of artists who sing these quiet songs?

I really love how Ichiko Aoba incorporates natural improvised sounds to her live concerts. It's really creative, and it gives a feeling that instead of a planned concert you are experiencing something out in the wild in a normal everyday.

Words will never be able to express the spiritual chokehold this woman's music has me in.
Aoba-san is the only artist I can say was truly sent from the heavens. Her music transports me to a world free from suffering and makes me want to continue on living. A dream that I don't want to wake up from.

I always cry whenever I listen to an ichiko aoba song, while I don't have a single clue about what she is saying, I just feel like I'm in another place, that is peaceful instead of chaotic or disorderly. ❤

This makes me feel like watching Studio Ghibli films -- immensely ethereal and flies me to a place where unsetting sunbeams are; where everything is sublime and beautiful. Thank you, Ichiko Aoba.

moshi moshi made me burst into tears, i think its because there's such a painful amount of empathy, almost maternal thats inherent in the music. i'm always reminded of tiny amiko in the movie, so much braver, colourful and unafraid than the world is ready for....the last scene where she waves goodbye to the ghosts hurts on a level that i can't quite articulate.

I never thought someone’s sound of clipping leaves completely melts with music. That alone makes me happy.
