How was that not unanimous? Career .311 avg, 3,089 hits, 509 stolen bases, AL Rookie of the year/MVP, single season hits record holder, AL stolen base leader, 10x gold glove, 3x silver slugger, 2x AL batting champion, 10x all star, Mariners HOF. And still not unanimous? They messed that up along side Ken Griffey Jr.

Baseball Writers who vote need to have their votes made public & with explanation. The fact that he was one votr away from being unanimous is asinine. Was bloody good & as consistent as any big leaguer & did so for a quarter century when you factor in his career in Japan. One of the all time greats. Congratulations Ichiro

Thank you SEA for producing this video and team's retired number "51". IMAO the only one writer who didn't cast a vote for Ichi would be from NY. I still remember clearly the dramatic scene of Ichi's blasting walk-off homer in 9th bottom at the game against NYY on 18/09/09. That was the 5th and last walked-off for Mariano Rivera, the reliever concerned, who is the unique Hall of Famer unanimously elected so far.
