This reminded me of a run that I did in British Columbia about 20 years ago. After less than a mile, I told my paddling buddies that I was going to haul my kayak out of the water and walk out. The walk out was brutal. I even encounter a black bear on the trail. I kept thinking to myself - what's worse, getting killed on the river or getting mauled by a bear.

One of the hardest runs in the world right there. Especially at anything over 1500. You make it look chill.

Nice vid. We paddle rafted Tum and Icicle on the same day back in the 90's...but not all of either, lol. The Wenatchee also has some great tribs, and nearby cricks like McCoy, Cooper, Little W'n, Peshastin and Cle Elum that makes the Leavenworth area an epic WW destination.Even the W'n splash and giggle run is great fun on a sunny day and good flow.

Reminds me of a trip I took down the Poudre River West of Ft. Cillins, Colorado. The river was at flood stage, very cold, very fast, pushy, and big. Blind corners, blind drops, no rescue spots, strainers, boulders, huge holes and small eddies. All class 5 rapids with zero breaks.. Funnest day on the river that I ever had!
