I have several planers.. They all have an aluminium base, they all get scratched very quickly.. Its usually knots in the wood that cause some scuff marks and blade damage.. I use max 1mm depth will all my planers regardless of how much power they have.. Its the blades which are common to them all start to overheat trying to chew through a deep cut.. If you back off to 1mm and just do a few more passes, im sure this planer is plenty good enough..

Seen some videos today, great channel 👍 Got a new subscriber 😄 I really appreciate the videos of Parkside against some top brands. Always considered green Parkside as bad tools for lowest price, but must say they improved over last years. The Performance line seems to be really good "value for the money" solution. Maybe not for professionals, but still, one can tell they invest some serious money as a firm in power tools development and try to improve the new models. Looking forward to the new videos.

Really thanks for the kind words! I agree - Parkside and Lidl are pushing hard to make the brand reputable.

A stejně to hobluje nějak divně, ruční hoblík udělá lepší povrch. Prostě spíš hračka, tak by mě zajímalo jak je na tom tahle Performance verze.

Personally, I think the whole Bluetooth functionality is so basic it's pretty much useless...not to mention that the 4ah battery make all the tools super heavy so I could imagine how much weight this mammoth of a battery is adding...but hey... I'm a chick so maybe that's why weight is a consideration at all. I'd imagine people who use these tools regularly would agree tho.

The new 4ah accu is the same size as the old 2ah accu. The new 8ah accu is the same size as the old 4ah accu. With a planer you want the 8 ah as it makes using it easier. They just have it at the wrong spot ,you want the weight to push down on the wood . On my drill i always use the 4ah accu as the endurance is very good. Bluetooth is mostly a hype thing as you set it once and never again.

@@janee7995 right I saw that but it's 60€ instead of 35€... Simply because of that useless BT option. Granted it's still cheaper than other brands but the whole appeal with Parkside is the price ratio. At least for a DIYer like me. I'll keep an eye out for sales 😁

@@janee7995 21700 cells are bigger and heavyer then 18650 cells. Makita 18V@ 2Ah weighs 387g and Bosch Pro core 4Ah with 21700 cells weighs 535 g ( 515 spect but 535g realy).

@@JoJoSXMGyal the old 4ah are about €35 and the new 4ah is now €45 The 8ah is €70 Lidl has NEVER the same price , it goes up and down. Next week it can be €20 more or less . Update : just bought 8ah for 49 euro. The 4ah is now 39. Dont think that price will get any better .

@Synth Cat as far as i know , its a little gimmick to see if the battery is charged and how it releases that energy . Econ or performance. Dont know of any other settings . My tools dont have bluetooth.

Haven't had enough time to fully test it. Planning to test it against some Milwukee or Bosch grinder, but probably will be after NY.
