Can you really change the world by changing your thoughts?
Does information come out of nowhere?
What is consciousness, and what is its role in the physical world?
Drawing on a host of seemingly unrelated influences from as far back as Francis Bacon and as far out as levitation, to the lingering presence of Nelson Mandela and the enduring significance of the Matrix, Dr. Dean Radin takes you on an extraordinary journey across both the classical and quantum realms to explore the mysteries of consciousness.
For the first time ever, leadership will be analysed and explored using a mix of Neuroscience, Quantum Physics, Management Psychology and Spiritual Philosophy. It's science meets storytelling with Dr. Radin's inimitable sense of humor, a captivating blend of in-depth scientific research, pop culture knowledge, and cross-disciplinary ingenuity, delivered with exceptional humanity.
The Extended Mind: Past, Present and Future, also called Mind-Matter Interaction, was presented as part of the Leadership Energy Summit Asia 2014, the biggest Leadership Energy event of its kind focusing exclusively on the personal sources of energy and staying power that leaders tap into at will. An annual event that brings together the world's leading thinkers, game changers and innovators, the Leadership Energy Summit Asia is a gateway to self-empowerment, mindfulness and exceptional leadership built on real human values.

Many regard truth with suspicion, but this is as true as I'm writing now... I'm a weather mancer. I may, under certain circumstances cause the weather, to make wind, rain, or, sunshine; as I demonstrated to witnesses at Loch Ness, Scotland, 24th June 2006. It was forecast to be very bad weather, when I consciously expected most radiant sunny weather (as must I whenever I travel, and it does so), and it was perfectly sunny for the whole event, gloriously. Then it became too warm for everyone there, so I danced (with the water elements/atoms of Loch Ness, and 'Tree Beard'/Scots Pine trees' elements/atoms on the tops of the surrounding hills) to cause a short shower of cooling rain, and refreshingly so it did on cue. When the short rain shower stopped, I was suddenly surprised that a rainbow had not appeared while it rained along with sunshine, so on request I did dance again to cause a rainbow and a double one appeared on cue; at that, we celebrated once more. My personal experiences teach me that such mindful events may be certain in the immediate time and given environment; not necessarily just in the immediate time, though that is usual. It may be fully experienced not only by the mancer, but also by those who consciously witness, especially those who decisively take part in being a conscious witness. Then may there be those who will bare no witness?

When I was a kid I trained myself to pick one red card out of nine black. I did it because I was a bored miserable child. I got so good at it during one week that I consistently picked it out 4 out of 4 times. I did have to use the same card but o didn't look at them I just imagined it as 'hot' and put my hand over it. No one can say it wasn't real to me because I did it just for myself. Took a month and a half . Went away pretty quickly when I stopped doing it constantly
@liquidbraino
@liquidbraino 4 жыл бұрын
I had a similar experience when I was about nine years old, using cards and got way above chance results, then for some reason I eventually got bored with it and quit doing it. I had a friend who's mom was the owner of the property management company which managed the apartments we lived in - so he knew every person in the complex; which cars they owned; what they did for a living. He's the one that suggested I go out to the parking lot, put my hand on a car and describe what I saw. The first car we went out to was his own moms car and I said "this is stupid, I already know what I'm going to see because I know you, your mom and your brother" and he said "just humor me and try it". So I did and I started getting VERY detailed images; I saw his mom wearing a red skirt; red jacket & black shirt. His brother was in the front seat, he was in the back on the right - I was describing what they were wearing but I told him "this doesn't make any damn sense - this can't be right". He said "why? WHAT are you seeing?" I described was I saw but I also saw somebody I didn't recognize sitting in the back on the left wearing an AC/DC t-shirt and thought it was just something my own mind was making up. The thing is... I had been out of the state for a few weeks visiting family in Texas. By odd chance HE had family visiting from Texas while I was gone and what I was seeing was his cousin - at least that's what he told me. But I didn't believe him, I thought he was just making it up in order to make it seem like something was really going on. So he tried to convince me to try a different car which I did and again - rather than describing what I saw I said "this makes no sense at all - what, did this person see a UFO or something?". He said - "well WHAT are you seeing? Describe it!" I said that I saw nothing but blackness with multi-colored lights up high. He told me that the owner of the car was a musician who made her money by performing on stage. I didn't believe him, I thought he was just interpreting what I said and coming up with a bullshit answer to explain what I saw. We actually got into an argument about it, then he said "DUDE!!!.... I'll TAKE you to her fucking apartment and you can see for yourself!". So we went to her apartment, he introduced me and as soon as I walked in the first thing I saw was a keyboard, two guitars and hand written sheet music laying all over the place. I could easily write a book about everything that happened over the next thirty or so years because I became obsessed with the phenomena and even ended up participating in parapsychology experiments with the Laboratories for Fundamental Research and got to meet James P. Spottiswoode. What I've described so far was only the beginning of an exploration which lasted the next thirty or so years of my life and continues to this day. I am a screenwriter (have an MFA in TV/Film screenwriting) and all of these experiences are definitely having an impact on my writing.

Meta-analysis is a huge deal. This is the most modern and proven way to do research science that involves macro (small scale) effects. This allows us to determine what really is going on. So for the laymen out there.... just because the effects are not as large as being able to individually lift a space-fighter with your Jedi powers, the reality of the data suggests that this is just as huge in terms of discovery. The fact that we can all collectively change the world, literally, through intention is an indescribably huge discovery in science. The next most pertinent question is... how do we focus this intention toward a pure goal such as world peace instead of individual nonsense like new cars and TVs?

HAHAHA, my point is, until these masses understand the nature of the universe, it ain't gonna happen:) Religion is a HUGE road block to what you are suggesting. It is the idea that we are separate that keeps us from achieving more. In fact it is probably impossible to get 3 or more to agree on anything:) The enemies are the things that divide us and there are those who would oppose it just because of the nature of it:) The haters believe they are the center of the universe. I LOVE this subject and it just confirms what I already knew anyway:)
@J.Allen_
@J.Allen_ 7 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Certainly the greatest roadblock to the real science presented here is fundamentalism. Sadly it seems to be a generational thing rather than philosophical. Meaning we aren't getting very far presenting the science to the close minded, we have to wait for them to die off and the next generation to step up. This type of research has been ongoing seriously for many decades already and here we still are unfortunately.

I experience the same thing. So many stories I could tell, I could write page after page after page about knowing without knowing how I know (only to have it confirmed later) or feeling that something is going to happen - then it happens or picking up on the feelings & thoughts of other people. If someone sitting close to me is craving ice cream I will literally end up tasting it as if someone shoved a spoonful of ice cream in my mouth - even the specific flavor (literally happened with my dad once, who was a skeptic - he freaked the fuck out and wouldn't shut up about it but then days later went RIGHT BACK to his old skeptical ways; as if it never happened).

A few things come to mind: 1) if particles show wave-like properties, could it mean that rather than being 'some THING,' as we think of 'things', that they could actually have a sound component? (In the Beginning there was the Word (Sound), and the Word was God (Creation.) Hermetics built into Genesis? 2) Also, if a potentiality only becomes actual after observation and measurement, is there then validity to a superstition of not wanting to get medical imaging/tests so that a suspected thing can be healed before it is acknowledged into form, which makes it easier to fix?

Dr. Radin, Q: What is a quark? Q: Has a quark been observed? Q: Basic building block of consciousness? As a former Yan Yin Qi Gong practitioner with many years of practice with the Chinese Qi Gong community, I believe that the quark does exist. On one of my many daily practice with my group, I experience a change in conscious focus awareness. While going in the meditation state space in-between awaken and sleep consciousness, I experience my focus awareness from an exterior body awareness to an interior brain awareness in-between the left and right brain. My awareness collapse into a single Dot just below and inside my brain. Then, this conscious Dot slowly detached from inside my skull and gently floated down into the middle of my beating heart. From there my Conscious awareness collapse Single Dot integrated with a vast gray field. It's my belief from years of personal and group Qi Gong practice that Consciousness is an integral part of the basic building block of the atom. Focus awareness changes in size and multiple Dimensional Space. It begins with a small Dot in a vast gray zero dimensional field. Then, it integrates within a two dimensional gray field with lines of equal distance integrating from the opposite left and right directions. After the Dot integrates with the vast gray opposing incoming lines, the quark will blossom two identical single field lines that travel at a great rate of speed in the opposite directions. One identical single line travels up the gray field while the opposite identical single line travels down. Once the lines in this gray field stop, there is an additional two Dots connected to the original Dot at the end of each extended line. Illustration of the resulting Dots and Lines in an up down vertical position: Dot, Line, Dot, Line, Dot. An illustrations of the quark connection: • | • | • Visual Illustration of the gray field with equal space lines integrating from two opposite directions from left side and right side before integrating with Dot: ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| • |||||||||||||||||||||||| Visual Illustration of Dot integrating with gray field lines from left and right in opposite directions before three Dots and two Lines connection blossom takes place: ||||||||||||||||||||| (•) ||||||||||||||||||||| Dr. Radin, what I just described is my own conscious focus birth experience from a vast cosmos, heart and mind. The human experience is extremely important and very personal.

often when the phone rings I can tell if it's a friend because my hello is strong but if it's anyone else my hello is nervous and tight. When I count out my pills for the week I dump them in my hand and often it's 7. The same when I used to weigh out an ounce which is 28 grams on the scale and it was a perfect 28 very often on the first try. Love and I suppose hate works thru the connected minds. When you have strong feelings for someone you cross paths or you never see them if you don't like them. I've learned to never hate anyone or thing because it binds you to self defeating thought and actions. Instead I send a thought of love to the offender. That and understanding and acceptance of imperfection.

I used to have a weird thing happen with the phone every time it rang (before cell phones existed) where I knew who was calling because the ring literally sounded different to me - which was physically impossible because it was an old rotary phone with an actual physical bell. If my dad called it sounded more angry and insistent, if my best friend called it sounded "funny" somehow; if my sister called the ring sounded sad and sometimes I'd even get a clear visual image of who it was right before I picked it up. I always know when my mom is thinking about me; always know when she's about to call - eventually I started responding to this and USING the information. When I knew my mom was thinking about me I'd call her -she'd say "Oh, I was just thinking about you" - I'd say "I know... that's why I called".

0:37 "... people report having these kinds of experiences..." >> Ramanujan has been described as a person of a somewhat shy and quiet disposition, a dignified man with pleasant manners.[89] He lived a rather spartan life at Cambridge. Ramanujan's first Indian biographers describe him as a rigorously orthodox Hindu. He credited his acumen to his family goddess, Mahalakshmi of Namakkal. He looked to her for inspiration in his work[90] and said he dreamed of blood drops that symbolised her male consort, Narasimha. Afterward he would receive visions of scrolls of complex mathematical content unfolding before his eyes.[91] He often said, "An equation for me has no meaning unless it represents a thought of God."

DAVID:- Obviously, small disturbances are bound to be produced by the observer's intervention in the experiment since both the interference pattern generated by a double-slit optical system and the radiation emitted by the observer through his eyes, heart and brain are of electromagnetic origin. Light is electromagnetic radiation. Light is an oscillating electric and magnetic field, so it is electrical-magnetic or a unified electromagnetic field by nature. Photons that make up light are forms of electromagnetic radiation and the force-carrier or mediator particle for the electromagnetic force. Similarly, the energy radiated by the human observer is electromagnetic radiation carried by photons. Thus, it is only to be expected that the EM waves of the optical system and the EM waves of the human observer interact with each other thereby causing perturbations in the interference pattern generated by a double-slit optical system on the screen. This is bound to happen. Intent has got nothing to do with the perturbation. Intent of non-mystical types is too feeble to cause disturbances and if at all such a disturbance is observed it is more due to the natural interactions of the EM fields of the optical system and the observer. If at all a mystic acts on the optical system with his Force the results will be manipulation of the emitted light waves of the optical system at will and each time he decides to play around with the optical system and its phenomena the result will be a hit and never a miss.

David Menaheim This experiment was also done with people who meditated on the experiment from a long ways away and while the experiment was sheltered in a lead room. There is no way to scientifically account for this. Only that the person knowing about the path of the electron in this experiment alters the behavior of electrons. No radiation from observer's eyes or heart. Simply the mind knowing of the matter and altering it. Look up Quantum entanglement, SAND14 etc.

I was also going to point out the same thing. In Dean Radins version of the Double-slit experiment there is no physical interaction with the double-slit itself and the measurement apparatus (which is outside of the experiment and sometimes all the way on the other side of the planet).

That's exactly how I felt. Very square and salesman-like. I think many people who are into such exciting fields like Rick Strassman on DMT or Dean Radin on ESP deliberately try to 'square up' so as not to let others think they are nutcases. Which is a shame.

He certainly doesn't require my defense, but I genuinely enjoy Radin's talks - and books, too, for that matter. I also find him likeable: this, despite the fact that I'm right-brained to a fault, practically allergic to math and science. Of course, this could be tied to my fascination with the subject matter. Fwiw - and the irony isn't lost on me - I'm an extrovert with a career that involves public speaking, yet I prefer getting content from Dr. R than the folks cited in your comment. On the other hand, I can't imagine posting a complaint re: their comportment after one of their presentations.

How the heck can quantum physics be fundamental to reality but not to any aspect of reality? That's what it sounds like to me when scientists say the qunatum realm is irrelevant in biology. I thought quantum physics was saying things about reality as we know it, not just the non-living part of it. Sorry, I have to say I think the idea that everyone having "Jedi" powers would lead to catastrophe is unfounded. Maybe, particularly if we evolved to have such senses and powers, we would still have the same amount of disaster in the world, or maybe it would be less. The fact you would know everyone else has the same powers would mean you would want to be careful with how you use those powers. I can see a possibility of chaos taking over if we suddenly developed such powers, but I see no reason to be confident that it would be catastrophic. I think it's worth considering that it could be a force of equalization among people.

Great, all the way up to the point of describing quantum physics, and then it's nope. QED is not a wave theory. It is a mistake to describe what is happening as "shooting probability waves." There's no such thing.

Some people are terrified of change. Most people are terrified of change, especially Christians. It's ironic that most Christians refuse to believe in things like telepathy; clairvoyance etc. They'll call it "the work of the devil" or deny it's existence despite years of statistically significant results proving otherwise - but will have no problem at all believing in talking donkeys (Numbers 22:30) Christians hate science because it's true and they hate the truth because the truth conflicts with their bible.

Dean often uses words like mind, emotions and consciousness but fails to say what substance these are made of. Matter, as well known, is a concentrate of energy. Can the same be said of mind, emotions and consciousness? Are mind, emotions and consciousness constituted of energy/matter? If yes, then, mind, emotions and consciousness are simply derived from energy/matter and as such should be treated as other material quantities. If not then the onus is on Dean to tell us of what substance/stuff is mind, emotions and consciousness made up of and how these connect with energy and matter. Simply throwing around terms without explaining their substratal basis is ignorance.

Dean repeatedly says he can show size effects for his theories but he doesn't yet have an explanatory model for any of it except what amounts to guesswork. He would contest the idea that we should altogether ignore the effect sizes for psi merely because we don't yet understand it. We are on the cutting edge of science in regards to consciousness and its fundamental nature and we are exactly where we should be-unless, of course, YOU have that explanatory model. We're all ears.

Neil DeGrasse Tyson is ignorant - he'll never listen to legitimate research if it conflicts with his own personal beliefs even if they're getting statistically significant results. He would rather interview a reductionist neuroscientist who claims that consciousness is the result of purely physical processes (which is exactly what his latest "Star Talk" episode is all about).

I mean, I like Tyson, but tbh, he barely even lets his conversational parters speak while talking. He is not out to study things but to prove things and popularize science as it is today. Not necessarily a bad thing....He's good to have to communicate astronomy on tv shows and stuff...but he and his kind definitely shouldn't be taken as the messiahs of modern rational thought
