I used to buy games at the flea market and an Asian guy happened to have the Japanese version before it was released in the US, he sold it to me for $20 dollars... Even though I didn't understand a word of what was being said, it still stands out as one of the most powerful games I have ever played. Best $20 dollars I ever spent.

The thing that made these 2 games( ICO, SOTC ) so fucking fantastic was they are purely original, done with such minimal colors and both have amazing soundtracks that fade in and out at the perfect time in the game.

What I liked about this game is how dependant you are on each other its like a love story game u cant be selfish and leave her behind because she is a part of you in the game.... also its a shame they stopped at ico and shadow of colossus. The latest platforms could really use these amazing creations again.

theres gonna be another on called the last guardian to complete the trilogy. i don't know when its coming out but i think you can get a estimate of the date on amazon. it's been stuck in development so don't expect it to come out soon.

From what ive seen on Wikipedia. The child at the end was Wander - reborn, the horns represent the part of Dormin left inside Wander after he was sucked into the pool. The child isn't Ico, but is the same race, (basically, wander-reborn has started a new race of horned children) Ico (the game) is based a small while after SotC, so Ico himself is just another child born of the race until you get to play him (:

@Chard6 It's an HD version, not a re-make. Pretty much what was already there gets put onto your TV crisper and cleaner. They didn't improve the actual graphics overall. (However, the crisper and cleaner translation onto your TV is definitely shown on Yorda. To me at least, she was pretty blurry in the original PS2 version)

A game doesn't have to be perfect for it to be a masterpiece. I am not the curator of the International Video Game Museum, so it's not like my comment is some irrefutable statement of the game's artistic value. However, I have a feeling that I'm not the only one who appreciates Ico as a work of art. It's Ico's subtleties that make it more than a, "pretty, cute, short game," and it's overall gameplay and presentation is a hell of a lot better than many other critically acclaimed titles.

This trailer barely shows any gameplay, the game is slow paced but it isn't dull. If you played Myst then I'm sure slow-but-good pacing is something your familiar with. I haven't played Myst but it seems the kind of game where you have to find certain items or interact with puzzle devices to proceed through the game. Ico's puzzles aren't too difficult, but they're challenging enough to be fun. They mainly consist of using the paths you can navigate to create ones the girl can navigate.

No, it's the opposite. Shadow if the Colossus was made as the prequel to ICO, as it was the first time at the end of SotC a horned child appeared. ICO played many years (or even centuries?) later, when horned kids were sacrificed and Ico being the first one to get the chance to escape that fate.

Not a fanboy here and I have never played the game, but it IS one of the best games next to shadow of the colossus (both by the same company). Maybe you don't like it, and maybe for you it is overated, but the fact that you don't like something doesn't mean it is not good, for example, I don't like God of War and that one is also one of the favorite games around. Also, someone said this is an adventure/puzzle game, that means you have to think/explore a lot and that graphics are secondary ;)

well I saw your comment about how a 'masterpiece is perfect' but that isn't true. A masterpiece is(straight from merriam webster) a work done with extraordinary skill. It's essentially a work of outstanding artistry, skill, or whatever so yes, this game is a masterpiece. It was created by a team that are just masters at what they do(the graphics for their unreleased game 'The Last Guardian' are just way past it's time. Check it out.). and the writers go beyond the word "great".

I can't say I disagree with those points, I suppose I'm just more willing to overlook the game's flaws. I see it as more of a puzzle game than some sort of Action Adventure title so I didn't mind the combat. I felt like the lack of music gave castle a more creepy sense of foreboding, and you're right it is short. I like Shadow of the Colossus more, anyway.
